It doesn't have to be the same tail.
I'd imagine on Rogadyn males the tail sold be more stout and perhaps shorter than that of their Galkan counterparts to reflect the build. On females the tail would be thinner, possibly ending in a lion-esque tuft or some sort of demon point or something.
There are about a billion ways tails can work and we don't have to use the exact same one from XI.

Can anyone imagine an hmm Estroegadyn can be that pretty before they release the concept art and model? People always think in term of the Tauren example of WoW. There are professional artists out there in SE. it can be always make Estroegadyn's tail fit nicely if they want to. Lots example with "female devil" with a devil's tail, which is commonly put as a mouse thin tail with an arrowhead... they are still super hot. so... tail and prettiness is not that much correlated.
I was a taru in XI since beginning. everytime I running behind some galka I always seeing that slowly swinging white thing in front of me. It's cool to me that's why I even created a galka mule to running around. So, I certainly feel that "tail bond" thing that other galka players said above. I miss it. For the other race players, how much time you will see Roegadyns to annoying you? For Roegadyn players, we see it, unfortunately, 100% of the time. For tail-wanters, it will always be "ahh... I wish it's there". I think a feature check box, like facial scar, during the creation is nice. A tail or no, just click it.
For armor design, I honestly don't worried about it. Just let tail sticking out, pretty much like current Miqo'te's.
For 3D character model concern, do you notice when lots monks show up with their swingy-feather-head-wear that will crash your computer? The client software doesn't know what to do if the monk put /display head off and make the feather disappear? So, software-wise I believe SE is ready even at today's coding.
I'm really glad OP started a thread about it. When you have a question in the class, just ask. That's many professors and instructors like to see. If you have a concern, you need to voice it out because there will be people with same question/concern out there.
Since they are still working on the new race feature make over, it's a good time to discuss about this issue.
Happy Server Merge Day!
If it is an option I'm ok with it but it should be placed well into the lore!
Still I'm already so used to Merwyb without a tail and to Roegadyns as a rather humanuid race (I find them fantasy-like, something between an ogre and giant, just not as fearsome as the first one mentioned). To me they feel complete this way and with a tail it would sort of change the race (or my view on it) for me. But each to his own.
So I'd like to have an amount of roes without a tail remaining (like I said, maybe do it by distingting more between the tribes).
If Merlwyb was ever one to have had a tail she probably lost it in a sea fight...
And yeah, for women I'd rather go for a slender tail because I like the idea of the female roegadyns being strong/badass but still feminine in their traits.
So yeah, option: yes.
I will support this only if they put the Roeg tails on the front side!
