Isn't this literally how this content was pitched to us when they revealed it pre-release? An island paradise where you can relax and take a break from your battles and adventures?

I'd argue there's a difference between "Relax and take a break." and "Relocate literally every activity I do in this game outside of instanced duties to this spot."

Why? It's not like you can sell anything from the island to the MB or buy anything from the MB to place on the island. It's not housing. It's never going to be housing and they will never add instanced housing. You can't even idle in the island without being kicked for afk hence the large crowd of people near the island guy at Moraby dry docks.

DoH/DoL materia get pretty expensive when new gear is released so the heavy crafters/gatherers start pentamelding. Those can be purchased with both types of cowries, though there are easier ways to farm the materia. There are also the normal glamour prisms/dispellers and the 3 housing furnishing that can be sold on the market board.

You can't get the Water Otter Fountain Landmark without either crafting the parts for the permit yourself or buying them off the MB from someone who can. I suspect there will be similar items coming from Expert recipes in future patches that will give you the chance to change some of the appearance of your Hideaway - speaking of which the Island Prisms are also crafted and sold on the MB.

I don't think the sanctuary needs those things added but I understand why others would want them, especially if they're unable to get a house.
