Ran The Dead Ends with a healer who stood in just about every AOE. I was able to revive them most of the time, except when I would die due to not getting healed. We wiped on the first boss at least four times. Nearly wiped on the last (only the tank was alive, but they were able to beat the boss). I was hoping the bird would drop after all that, but it didn't. The orchestrion roll dropped, but I rolled a 4 on it.

When a controller dies on pc while you're moving, the game takes the last movement input and just keeps doing it. I dunno if that's what happened but that's happened to me more than once.

It does the same thing if you use mouse for movement. Had a mouse die on me mid-pull. Luckily for me, the malfunction caused my character to avoid every single AoE being thrown out long enough for me to solve the problem.

Should probably be glad it didn't drop. There's some kind of cosmic law in place stating whoever screws up the most in a run will always be the one to win the rare pet/mount at the end. You'd have watched the floor aficionado walk out of there with it.

Generally, if it's going to take more than about 30 more seconds to solo down a boss, I'd choose the reset and let others back into the fight; the exception being if the people on the ground are cheering on the attempt and clearly game for me to keep going.

The people I play with and I always cheer on someone soloing a boss after we screw the pooch.
It's like watching Baryshnikov dance, and they earned the right to do it if they want to.

I got a legit disingenuous "sorry guyz my controller died" in an Ex3 farm.

I dunno they seemed to be perfectly capable of running to the middle for despair unforgotten and wiping 5/8 of the party to me.

This is why mine is never wireless.

Solo heal on Barb EX is a trap DPS go all over the place filling the healer gap on stack mechs.

Queued in for Leveling roulette with my Lala alt, got Totorak with a sprout Conjurer and I was playing Warrior. Tried single pulling the first two groups to see if healer can keep up. DPS was good but I didn't get any heals from the healer which got me thinking oh maybe healer thinks I can live with it. 2nd mob nope, 1st boss nope, not a single Cure given to my poor Lala. I pulled the Pudding group wall to wall and lo and behold healer didn't even heal me and I died. I was waiting to be Raised but healer just stood there. I was like "Raise"? in auto-translate since I play in a JP DC. Nope.

I respawned, ran back to them to continue. I checked his search info and saw he has JP language and has a 76 SCH/SMN. Monk asked in chat if healer was a "foreigner" (in Japanese so healer as a JP player would've understood that). Survived 2nd boss with a sliver of health on me. I mentioned in chat "Heal, Please assist" then "Cure, Please use it, Conjurer"<se.9> to ping and then he started spamming heal ON HIMSELF. So the Monk was like "Don't you know the target?(;'∀')" (at this point even he was assuming the healer was on controller and didn't know how to shuffle target in the party) so I was like "Cure, Warrior" then /me emote. Then he was able to go heal everyone at the party. Eventually we cleared the final boss without wiping and me not dying but it was painful man. It makes me regret I don't have my Bloodwhetting yet at that level. Q.Q

Backfilled a Thornmarch EX that ended about 30 seconds later before getting thrown into a fresh one with 6 new people and 1 mentor, none of whom knowing what to do. This roulette sure knows how to be mischievous.

Great Hunt EX (yet again). 3 mentors and sprout healer (yet again). Said healer has cleared "like 6x" but didn't really know any of the mechanics (even suggesting to go on the back) and still chose to queue through DF regardless. Tank (pronouns in bio) says "shut up" upon me innocuously questioning why healer would queue for the fight instead of running it unsynced or using PF. BLM says nothing the entire time, dies a few times without accepting returns, and uses LB on Rathalos while he's flying. Despite the first phase of this fight being easier than the second, it (yet again) has several more wipes than the latter (after tank claimed "99% of these runs take less than a few attempts"). Guess he's had better luck, albeit not this one time.

Very next queue is another Great Hunt EX with the same healer. Noped out of that one.

IDK why Crystal healers do this to themselves. I did this fight via PF just like everyone else, and now I have about 20 spare EX scales.

Yeah, I abandoned Mentor roulette a long time ago. I don't even bother to unlock it, even when the requirements change. A full instance timer of wiping to Thordan Ex 10 seconds in repeatedly was all it took to make me decide that it is not worth my time. I'll sometimes hop around random groups in the PF and help out (without my crown on, haven't worn it for a long time now), or on rare occasion enter my server's NN. I'm still doing my part, even if people aren't aware that I'm a mentor.
