Because you keep truthbombing the dreams of Geomancer being a DPS when it'll probably be a healer with a different name. And it makes Seraphor sad.
Edit: lolGamefaqs the good old days
If you are the same Firemage from Gamefaqs I hope you are enjoying FFXIV. I don't agree with Firemage on a lot of things but they always seemed pretty cool to me.

I agree that elemental magic is overdone and something different would be welcome.BLU: Allow me to introduce myself with Protean Wave, Aqua Pull, Aqua Breath, Water Cannon and MALEDICTION OF WATER(Geomancer spell btw)
But yeah I agree with above posters. They've gone and used up Elemental magic way too much. I'd prefer more Light and Dark magic to be implemented.
Interestingly, once upon a time, Thaumaturge was Light/Dark and Conjurer was full-elemental. But when jobs were introduced they needed a base class for Black Mage .....so here we are.
I don’t mind if it’s the same elemental. Whm has already moved away from earth, air and water magic as it’s main source of magic. Red mage is the only job that has earth and air magic. So I’m not seeing where it’s being overused. Geomancer can come in with some uniqueness to those elemental. I’m fine if we don’t get it but I’m just saying with all the geomancer references since Stormblood I wouldn’t be surprised if it became our next caster. It’s always been a caster type. Never a healer type job. Now would be the perfect time to implement. Well 7.0 that is.
It'd be pretty cool to have a job that balances between light and dark magic. A judge job perhaps? Where you use scales to swing back and forth between light and dark spells; light spells will tip the scale one way and dark spells will tip it the other way, and the spells can have different effects depending on which way the scale is tipping.BLU: Allow me to introduce myself with Protean Wave, Aqua Pull, Aqua Breath, Water Cannon and MALEDICTION OF WATER(Geomancer spell btw)

That's too similar with the actual Red mage where you have to keep balance. It'd be pretty cool to have a job that balances between light and dark magic. A judge job perhaps? the Judge job won't be a caster either (unless SE really want to surprise us) because the most notable of them is Gabranth, a Dual Wielding fighter.
SE really said that say want "original" job. If we are following this literraly then Geomancer is out of the board.
Back before Endwalker, people were suggesting something like an Apothicary, throwing potion into battle for various effect. This was hinted by a little girl inside Cristarium during the Main quest, where she said that she want to help people with her potion while fighting.
Getting an "object" based class would be original, not many games have one. Of course, Machinist can be thrown inside this category because he has various weapon now, like the drill, chainsaw and anchor (fired by different end on the same device), a Shotgun or even a Sniper. He even use a wrench in one of his skill.
I don't think anyone was suspecting the sage to have 4 flying magical laser-firing wand as a weapon, or that the Reaper will actually come to the game at some point. I don't know for the sage, but the reaper didn't get any hints whatsoever inside the game before Endwalker cames out.
So this time around, I guess this will be the same, we won't get a hint at all unless something big happens.
