No it isn't. It seems like a daunting task but if you break down what needs to be done versus the total opportunities provided each expansion, it clearly becomes possible.

There are over 1200 deliveries opportunities per expansion. The highest achievement for each Custom Delivery NPC only consumes 150 of those opportunities. That means 8 can be completed per expansion.

We get at most 3 new Custom Delivery NPCs per expansion, allowing players to catch up at the rate of 5 old NPCs per expansion. You're actually able to catch up fairly fast. You just need to keep playing the game.

Tribal quests are even easier. You only have to get to max reputation, which takes only about a month for the non-ARR tribes (can't remember how long it takes for the ARR).

And if you choose to stop playing the game? Then all the effort to play catch up on meaningless achievements was a waste of your time in the first place.

I know a lot of players like to see themselves as achievement hunters but I wonder how many of them stop to consider what value having those mostly meaningless achievements have brought to their lives. Some might go but they aren't meaningless. True in a few cases - some achievements represent true efforts worthy of acknowledgement. Most don't. Most are just a way of saying "I wasted lots of time doing this boring small effort activity over and over and over again".

Either way, no it's not impossible for a new player to catch up. They just need to choose to invest time into doing it over doing other things they may find more enjoyable.

not all achievements are meant to be accessible to all either without effort being put into it.

Rather than have a cap of X quests a day, how about being able to do all of the quests the giver hands out each day for all tribes in all content? For example, the Pipsqueak Pranksters give 3, the Heffalumps and Woozle Riders give 3, the Slithering Sisters give 5, the Nanoo-Nanoo give 5, and the Flying Cabbages give 6; I'd like to be able to do all of them in a single day if I feel like. They'd still gated behind a #quests/day rate, but not also behind a limited cap of tribal quests doable per day. This would help to clear those out of the To-Do (eventually) List faster since I could binge every faction each day I felt like doing so.

    Fair enough.

In practice, 3 per tribe per day is functionally the same thing if you ignore the ARR tribes and the three extra quests you get each time you level up with the HW and later tribes.

(Like so many other things in this game, the way ARR does things stands apart from how all of the later expansions do them.)

So true, so true, and it's the ARR tribes that have made me stop doing anything but the ShB and EW tribes outside of binges of a week or so every couple months. If I'd chipped away at them frequently I'd have been maxed out with all tribes long ago, but that's not how this guy's mind works. Knowing that I could do all the quests every day, if I wanted to, is more motivating than having to choose which ones to prioritize, even though they're functionally the same since I don't have anything to benefit from level 60+ tribes XP gains. I've essentially been doing the older tribes' stuff just to tick the check box next to their name on the list of factions with max rep.

That's my feeling on it too. It's sort of a good thing for me that there are a lot of annoying and too-much-work achievements here, because I can easily look at it and say "nope, not even going to bother". It's more annoying when there's just one thing left on the list that you can't do to complete it.

It serves the same purpose it always did: keeping you at a total of 12 per day instead of 3 per ever-increasing number of tribes.

Leave it the way it is. I feel like it is more about putting a time limit on earning those achievements. The crafts aren't hard - they never were. They are "just right." 12 per week gives enough scrips (if you do this every week) to provide all scrip-related items you'd ever need if you are willing to put in 10 minutes/week over many weeks.

Both tribes and custom deliveries are meant to be casual activities with nice rewards. If you want more xp or scrips, there are other ways to get that.

Who do they need to catch up to? The achievement doesn't even count for anything. It only takes a little over a month to max reputation on each client. That's basically the end of it.

it's because people are selfish and demand immediate satisfaction. it's all about me, me, me. now, now, now. I want it now and I don't want to have to wait for it. Because if they're not they're not catering to me. I'm paying for this so I should get what i want handed to me. otherwise it's bad service.
