Outside of officially curated public statements, communication of any kind between us and them is non-existent.SE banned just about every Eureka bot on NA DC's a couple months ago. Since at least March or May, every day there were like 20 bunny bots in Pagos, 20 in Pyros, and 28 or so in Hydatos splitting moist box farm and bunnies. Why it took SE so long to ban them, who knows, but I just want to make it clear that SE did ban those bots. Now we are starting to see them come back. One full party at least so far on Primal, one on Crystal, not sure about Aether. I know everyone thinks reports don't do anything, but I think they do. We made a decent effort on Crystal's Eureka discord to encourage everyone to take the time to report all the bots, as the situation was out of control at the time. 2 weeks later the bots all disappeared. Coincidence? Maybe.
Reporting for cheating is a massive pain in the butt. Have to type all those names out every time and describe what they were doing. The process isn't transparent at all, meaning we have no stats to look at and see what reports led to bans, which ones needed more info, wrong reports, any frivolous reports, etc. Also it's not very encouraging for players to keep hearing about how reports aren't looked at. Honestly I think not enough reports get sent in but we can't know that without any info from SE, and it doesn't bode well that they don't share any. I can't help but be optimistic instead of defeatist when it comes to Eureka.
I would be fine if they removed the gil from bunnies and plat coins from lockboxes. Probably the best thing they could do. Won't solve the botting problem in general, but then again I don't really care if they bot outside Eureka. Just want them to stop doing it in my house.
How do you know they specifically banned those bots if they never communicate the matter with you?
If you think reporting bots will do anything, I have this nice bridge I'm willing to sell...
I have reported FATE bots on Goblin for months, all from the same FC, doing millions in profit from the Bicolor Gemstone items, I don't even get a GM to send me an automated response anymore, I've tried reporting them from the Lodestone, in-game, by claiming harassment, nothing. Radio silence.
I love this game, but the way SE turns a blind eye to bots is infuriating, to say the least.
Is this why some of them still wear ilvl 510 crafted gear that has names on them (thereby not from retainers)?SE banned just about every Eureka bot on NA DC's a couple months ago. I guess someone just really likes crafting Exarch gear for them? Sounds like we found the supplier, unless those bots are still the exact same ones, no? From when they did the maps and nothing was done then either?
You're just one person though. Even if what you said is true and accurate, maybe they require a few reports from different players before they even look at investigating a suspected bot. Or maybe you submitted too many reports recently, or reports that lack info, or the few that were wrongly put under harassment instead of cheating, so they stopped reading them. Who knows. If you think reporting bots will do anything, I have this nice bridge I'm willing to sell...

Every single MMO has a botting problem, and yeah it's frustrating. There is no perfect solution to eliminating them. If SE hires more people for AC, the botters just buy more accounts and the price of gil goes up. If it continues to increase, more people are going to start botting FF14. Ends up costing them more for staff than they are losing from people quitting due to bots. An anticheat does squat if WoW is anything to judge by, as it doesn't take the bot makers long to figure out how to counter. Larger AC team compared to FF14's apparently small one isn't doing WoW and favors either.
I don't see how the humans win against a machine backed by other humans, who are surrounded by cheap labor with this golden opportunity to make wads of cash from botting a game. Maybe a company will develop some anti bot AI soon, a bot buster buster buster if you will, and sell it to the mmos. lol
It would make sense I guess. Those bots were doing something else before they suddenly showed up in Eureka. Most we ever seen in there before that last batch several months back, was the odd group doing anubys in Pagos. Is this why some of them still wear ilvl 510 crafted gear that has names on them (thereby not from retainers)?

I want to thank Zepla for listening and talking about the eureka bots she talked about this story recently

Same, all my friends who actively play Eureka tell me it's one of the most reliable gil-makers in the game once you get far enough. I'm currently still in Pyros.
Journey to all fish: 1383/1729 (348 remaining) [79%]
Saw a lot up until Pyros. Never saw one in Hydatos, map is quite straight forward too, easy to make gil, only did three bunny fates today and got 135000.
Sure, they just delete the level 1 RMT spammer's account and say they did something. Of course, a new account gets automatically created, and the spamming continues. They should just be quietly silencing them based on repeating text in their ads.
Approximately four days ago I went back to hydatos planning to chill by bunny FATE as I do something in another tab when I noticed 2 party of 8 'players' from Faerie all farming moist boxes with uncanny similarities between all of them: they all have 2 combat jobs leveled, one to lv70 and the other to lv90 (the latter presumably to access Endwalker zones), & lv90 FSH. All 16 of them, no exception. Endwalker zone + lv90 FSH? Sounds familiar, yeeeaahh... players..
I nope'd out immediately.
