Eureka Bots are generating 280m gil a day with platinum pieces

GM's are not allowed to touch bots.... only the 4 person STF in Japan

They are not only not allowed to touch the bots, they aren't allowed to acknowledge they exist.

Friend kept seeing the same bot past multiple waves buying maps in Gridania, filed it to the GM's instead trying to understand why, GM pretended the character didn't even exist.

I kinda get why GM's can't (They want to do some thorough checking probably to figure out how it ticks), but to straight tell someone "They aren't there. They don't exist" was quite something.

seems to be a policy from the very top.. I think SE prefers to just think they dont exist

I think the only way to stop bots/sellers is litigation, no? but idk if you can do that easily, depending on where they live, etc.

I think buyers is an easy punish they should consider. Wont people just buy the game again if they lose access?

I find the fishing bots in Mare Lamentorum even more egregious because they're using a hack to remove the animations(And associated lag) from their fishing abilities, yet they're seemingly just as impossible to get the STF to mobilize against as any other bot.

Wait, Eureka is THAT profitable? o_o I only unlocked the 1st area, I guess it's time to go back and grind more, lol.

Beyond 1st zone, almost everything reeks gil in Eureka. Granted you won't get to access those opportunities reliably until the very butt end of questline progression so it does take some time. But imho they're worthy.

But with bots running rampart in there, personally I don't even know if that still rings true or not.

considering ALL the data on gil movement is on the SE servers should be easy to track. companies running bots would rebuy the game yes. but a human with time investment who could lose that time if they buy gil and get banned? most would rather not take teh chance and not buy, and keep all their hard earned stuff. if less people buy, then less incentive for gil making bot parties.

the bots are a symptom, not the base problem. gil buyers are the real problem and thats what SE needs to address

I don't know where people got the idea that bots are handled better in the japanese servers but that's not really true at all.
I have no experience in eureka in the japanese datacenters but overworld bots, gathering bots, etc, have been present in those servers for years as well.

I don't think it's that they do nothing, it's just that they are so severely understaffed that they can't keep up with 0.000000000001% of the bots that get created. They need to give GMs more ability to at least jail suspected bots until such a time as they can be dealt with/cleared, and hire a large number of people who can help the STF.

This was proven false over and over for years. There are bots reported by at least a few players, gathering and/or speed hacking, FSH with bypassed animations that receive no action, even a few that you can recognizer the names for because its been THAT long. This STF literally takes no action against botters unless they literally confess. The useless ban waves you see being reported are nothing but chargebacks and chat spammers.

exactly. their much vaunted weekly report on numbers banned never seem to touch the long term, much reported and reported IN DETAIL bots are still around. the chat spammers in major cities, who are likely all compromised accounts, re the numbers they ban, and for the bot runners, those are the throw away accounts anyway.

understaffed? incompetent? simply dont care? who knows, the the STF is a place reports go to die. if the Japanese servers have the same infestation levels then the STF is useless and needs a complete housecleaning. I hate advocating that people lose their jobs, but if the problem is at this level even there, then they are not doing the job they are advertised to be doing.
