I'm not going to suggest they enlarge the existing tails because not everyone's into the aesthetic, but instead they could add one or two extra that are longer than what is currently available (...) Another mock-up of one such option:

I have definitely thought similar. The tails for male au ra just don't look very good, in my opinion. I have also thought they would have benefited from tails that more fit their overall design, or something longer as shown, conceptually.

Personally, the things that I don't really like about male au ra in particular are their bodyshape (specifically their midsection), animations, and general tail shape/length (as said above).
