Quite honestly I think SE should have the balls to say "we said ONE house, not TWENTY-ONE! I don't care how we worded it or whether you bought the entire ward in 2015, you know darned well what me meant when we said ONE!" People who own entire wards for themselves quite honestly are not using them and have no reason to own that many houses. It's selfish especially when they know the game has such limiting resources and to continue doing this with new wards is just greedy and disgusting. Hate me all you want but I hate even more every one of you who do this.

for the housing, they tried to patch It in the past (there was like a Little period of time, like a month or so) but something else risked to broke (there was the possibily that you had 2 characters as officier of 2 differenti guild, with an FC house, you were promoted in both and the game then didnt know what to do). So they reverted it

Is it wrong? Is it right? I am tired to discuss about it, but THIS IS HOW IT WORKS, i repeat: you can have 9 houses for account per world.

Square is fine with it. If not players wouldnt have the option to add several FF14 game licenses under one Square ID. So it seems they dont see it as problem.

And usage is defined by you then? Sad to see that we have the FF14 HOA on EU as well. And I thought only the NA RPers would be less educated to annoy others how to use their house. (and to be honest here I rather have a well decorated Lucis Ward then an ugly ward with mostly 1 bed, 1 chair, 1 closet decorated houses)

Yoshi warned us years ago that the rich will be getting richer and buying up properties after he gave in to personal housing. Well it seems he wasnt wrong with his estimation back then. Gil doesnt serve any value beside spending it for useless things or buying something as a status symbol and may it be even more then one house. I mean its the fault of Square not to provide a 200M, 500M or even a unique Gilcap mount, housing item or whatever gilsink they can imagine for those who dont know where to spend the gil.

Dont waste you energy on a game, really. A game shouldnt impact your negative feelings as much as it seems it does right now.

Housing after that has became a nightmare.

Not in my experience.
Since the lottery system was fixed, my spouse and I have picked up three small houses:

• a personal small for my spouse in Shiragani on Fairie,
• a personal house for me in Lavender Beds on Fairie, and
• the latest, today, an FC small in Ishgard on Midgardsormer.

The most recent acquisition was the easiest: there were no other bids on the lot we wanted (plot 19) and no bids at all on the lot adjacent to it.

It seems to me people who want a house and can't seem to get one either aren't trying all the options available to them (like forming a solo FC) or are being picky. And that's fine, it just means there is something they consider more important than getting a house, and have therefore chosen to decrease their chance of getting one.

When did they say that? Oh, never. While they don't want it to happen there are still loopholes that they can't seem to plug that make it happen. Plus people have been grandfathered in by past bad rulings and SE doesn't want to touch those.

Also, how is that everyone can have their own island, but not a house??? I am just not getting this situation at all.

Because of the ward system. Every single ward is active on the servers simultaneously regardless of whether any players are currently in them, like field zones. Apartments and islands only load an instance when a player requests to enter. The biggest burden on server performance is having a huge number of wards in the game, and they are always pushing up against how many they are able to support without degradation of performance.

Probably seemed like a good idea at the start when player population was lower, gil in circulation was lower, only FC leaders could buy one and the garden was the only advantage they gave before workshops existed. It was like just pick any big FC to join, you all share a house, you can make a small private room in the back, this is housing. Only got unfair when they thought they could open the same land plots to private buyers and expected the number of players who want one and can afford one to be manageable.

Better to say look to those who control the game design to fix issues instead of attacking others who are playing as the game allows.
