I think this is what people have been surprised at when I have given my opinion, because while I do think something more Bless-like would be more popular, I do personally think they should be consistent and make female hrothgar look like they belong to the same race. Although, the Bless variants aren't too egregious, in my opinion.
The thing about male hrothgar though, is that they are pretty soft in the face and stylized, so I could easily see them taking a similar approach with females.

I think it's probably because softer faces and stylizing helps making them more emotive.I think this is what people have been surprised at when I have given my opinion, because while I do think something more Bless-like would be more popular, I do personally think they should be consistent and make female hrothgar look like they belong to the same race. Otherwise we'd end up with what Disney thought would be a good idea. Same scene:
...the mere fact they're making a live action movie for Mufasa boggles my mind. Disney truly does not learn.
Of course, stylization makes for a more expressive face. I have always thought that female hrothgar should be fairly expressive. I've always imagined them as being very proud and sure of themselves, like a queen.I think it's probably because softer faces and stylizing helps making them more emotive.

I was looking foreword to that Live Action too.
If they could have toned back the photo realism just a little...enough so they could have added abit more emotion, would have been good visually.
But the other thing I hated the most about that movie, os the Voice acting.
It was So Souless and sounded like they were literally just reading a script
The worst part about that entire movie is that actual lions are not that emotionless. They display a lot of goofy faces, as you can see with Hrothgar themselves. The movie was entirely soulless, and anybody who had seen actual lions or asked zookeepers would have been able to get some good material for examples of lion faces to use that were not so...fake.I was looking foreword to that Live Action too.
