I disagree with banning the player. Waymarks have traditionally been used for setting up strategies in fights and if the stage transforms and doesn’t allow waymarks to be placed in key areas of the battle when the stage has changed it defeats the purpose of the system.

Further more they are implementing fixes so they are agreeing the offending parties had a point. Banning people and then later implementing their fixes is a rather ungrateful way to show appreciation for their feedback. It simply shows begrudging acceptance.

Exactly, the player shouldn't have received a ban. It's beyond insulting and I think that player is a hero, not a villain.

Their whole reaction to third party tools has been comically backwards. Twice now they're implemented changes directly in response to these tools. Which will only further incentive their use because it wasn't until people kept using them that they did anything.

It was the tool used in 5.1 with TEA in changing the markers mid fight to accommodate for the final phase with exatrines.

Its a difficult position. I don't want this game to open up like WoW and just have addons everywhere for every little thing. I don't want players to feel like that HAVE to have a specific addon in order to do content. At the same time, players are gonna use them so this take of constantly attacking them for using them in mostly harmless manners is just not a good look.

I mean think about it this way. Its either them having to back down and open full support for add-ons which is a philosophy the dev team doesnt seem they ever want to support or its mitigating their usage by applying what "players trying to play game devs and try to fix the issues themselves" into the game itself hence no longer needing for people to want to NEED to use that addon.

If people are being salty about it for breaking ToS and trying to find this invisible "grey area" thats on them, they've AGREED to the terms and conditions that clearly state not using them and if you get caught, then its your fault. Its how real life works and you can whine and moan about how it can be unfair but oh well, those are the rules.

100% the right answer. This is the fallout from the devs changing the way the waymarks were added.

They stopped us from being able to do them mid fight, so now people have to set them up before the pull

    The arena changes mid fight.

Why TF won't they let us put them were the arena is after the transition?

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
