I mean, if they dropped everything in 6.2x all at once, I suspect people would burn-out trying to do All The Things right away, and then complain there was nothing to look forward to until 6.3x. But it also gives them time to polish other things individually; I also suspect they're still working on fine-tuning the Variant/Criterion dungeons that will come in 6.25, for instance.

I'd say you shouldn't think of it as "6.2 is the patch, and we're getting parts of it later"; rather, think of it like "6.20 is this one patch, and 6.21 is the next patch..." and so on. The x.y0 patches are always MSQ chapters and raids (be they normal/savage or alliance), while the patches between the x.y0 ones contain other content.

Being able to focus on the raid stuff for 6.20, and then once they know that's all rolled out well, turn their attention fully to final polish/balance/whatever for the Variant and Criterion dungeons -- or any other 'later patch lifetime' features -- and then roll those out and be able to focus on addressing any issues that arise there is just good dev practice.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

People forgot already that Island Sanctuary got maxed out in 70-ish hours due to people zerging content that was meant to be taken easy?

I do think though that part of the reason why people associate 6.20 as being the whole patch and then having content drip-fed in its tenure because they announce everything the patch cycle will have at once. Including on the trailer.

And complaining that they couldn't go faster, too. :|

Yeah, SQEX does themselves no favors there.

I get why they do it, mind you; it's a lot easier to make a compelling/exciting trailer and patch summary when you have the MSQ chapter and raid tier or alliance raid to include in it. A patch that only includes, say, PvP balance fixes and a new Deep Dungeon is harder to make an exciting trailer for. So it makes sense that they like to make a trailer for 'the next MSQ chapter, and all that content that's coming up from now until the chapter after that'.

But it doesn't do them any favors in making people think about it like one patch being split up and drip-fed.

Boo frickety hoo. So they have to wait another day to get what they want. . . talk about first world problems.
    1) "Most" of the playerbase are NOT in the US.
    2) Losing half a day on the workshop rules out the entire week not just a day. And as maintenance has happened every tuesday, which is reset for the workshop cycle, people are finding they cannot do the content properly. //However// those savvy enough would have assigned one of the rest days for the workshop to be on a tuesday.

I mean, you can also assign things an entire week in advance.

Yes, it means you can't adapt day-to-day based on shifting supply if you're trying to min-max your profits, but... if you're trying to min-max your profits to that degree, I suspect you've already realized that making Tuesday one of the rest days is more efficient anyway.

This is normal maintenance. Only game I've ever played without maintenance every week is wow, and that's because they push hotfixes live. They'll nerf your raid fight while you're fighting it.

Kind of a weird point to make. Who are you to determine whether or not a person is wasting their time by certain activities?
