A lot of this argument is about crit RNG. I wonder what would happen if everyone decided to stop using crit for once and went Determination, SS, Tenacity or maybe DH (but this is still RNG).

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.

Game centers around rng Crit and 2 minute burst windows. There's your problem.
And the way forward it seems is to give everyone and their mother automatic direct crits.
It's a bad system and to a degree makes a lot of jobs feel the same.
Just take the one that crits more.
That seems to be the dev mindset.
I mean, you would still have crit RNG. You'll still have some crit no matter what you stack.
Yes, but that is irrelevant to the point I'm making. If everyone is relying on good crit RNG and not getting enough crits, maybe raising the guaranteed damage floor as much as possible would even it out so they don't need good crit RNG. We won't know that if we never even consider these other stats.

*walks in looks that the thread* Nope, want none of this. *walks out*
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
In my opinion, this is more of a "what came first, the chicken or the egg" type issue.
Before every job was designed to fit in the same 2 minute burst window, we had some jobs that fit in that burst window, some that had out-of-phase burst windows and some that didn't have their buffs line up well at all, so they just sort of used these buffs when they saw fit.
The playerbase started lining up buffs like Trick Attack along with Chain and Battle Litany and found they were powerful. In turn, players began to move away from the "non-lining-up jobs." Players that didn't want to move away from these jobs started providing feedback to SE that their jobs are now out of favor because they don't fall into those windows. So SE began making more jobs (all jobs?) fit in that 2-minute window. And that's where we are today.
Or the fact that Yoshi and the devs are in fact fallible and don't know what they are doing sometimes? Not just the loss in DPS but you got, Viera/Hroth hairstyles gone bad with no hats still XD. The lackluster of housing which to me if every other MMO can do it seamlessly why can't FFXIV unless it makes them dumb founded. FFXIV is a alright game it's not 100% and it's flawed. People need to wake up and see it. Even the UI is old and bad. If people have to use mods to make your game better aesthetically and the UI better that speaks volumes
Yes yes, bald man bad. Now do you have anything to actually refute those arguments and prove that 2 minute burst windows for everyone are great and the way forward? Maybe objective proof that job balance in the current savage tier is completely fine? Or do you just like to hear yourselves talk?He also got beat out by a war and a PLD in dps on his p8s clear.
He just talks big.
Angry, egotistical people seem to gather large followings for some reason. I don't think he's very entertaining. Haven't watched any of his guides or anything since he had his man-baby rant in hw about how war wasn't top tank dps anymore.
I often think that Xeno's takes on things, like the design of Continuation for example, are nonsense. Doesn't mean he's wrong on everything just because it's him. We've heard the exact same sentiment from Zheph Zaeora and Momo.

Job balance has nothing to do with buff windows or crit rng. Meele dps were overbuffed because reaper exists. That's all there is to it.
Because that definitely explains the disparity between tanks or the disparity between BLM and every other caster.
These massive dps differences were already present in kill logs, not optimized parses that beat the fight 100 times to get perfect crit rng.
