Being told to Melee LB3...

The real play, as a healer, is to say "melee, LB when you're ready. <se.2>" Just make a macro for it and put it somewhere nearby but still out of the way. When you feel confident that the LB is best spent on damage, then you hit the macro. Simple as. This leaves the exact timing in the hands of the melee without explicitly saying "hey, I know you're in the middle of your burst window so just go ahead and LB when you're done. The sound effect snaps people out of their rotation long enough to acknowledge the chat log and then make the decision from there on out.

If we're not in our 2 min burst and the boss drops to 8% and the melee hasn't used the LB3 yet, I'll use it as a caster.

As far as I'm concerned, it's the melee dps' spell. (Outside of healer or tank moments where it would be better put to use.)

It's generally speaking not to be touched by the casters or ranged dps. Simply because melee deals higher single target damage.

But with that being said, it's also a melee's job to watch the bosses health and know when to use it. If they're sleeping on it and not doing their job, I'll pick up the slack and use it.

Of course this is only outside of the 2 min burst window. If we're currently in the burst window, I'll wait for the melee to finish up their burst rotation...... and then snipe it from them before they can use it! Mwahaha! /s

I thought I was the only one who was annoyed by this. Or when they yell for LB right when a mech is about to happen. Yea. No. You'll just have to wait until I'm good and ready.

As a NIN I know it's my job to melee LB, but you guys are gonna have to wait if trick is up. Yelling at me to do it won't make it happen any faster.

for me melee lb3 functions more like wipe the party button then anything else because pretty much anytime I use it we get a wipe later that a heal lb3 could have stopped

I just want the melee to LB3 so the Red Mage won't. My eyes can't take much more of that & they usually manage JUST when there's some mechanic I really need to see.
