thing is, the "disbanding" was just so the leaders of Eorzea would stop calling on them to solve all their problems. it was never going to be a "goodbye, never see you again" kind of thing. they were still going to be around, but the only way to get off the speed dial was to dissolve the scions and appear to go about their separate ways. its nice to be the only fire brigade in Eorzea.. but the leaders need to hire their own fire brigade, not always run to us.

Doesn't make it any less jarring, especially after they all mentioned what they were planning to do once we went our separate ways, only for us to drag them back into wacky adventures 5 minutes later.

Like, it was never a "were never doing anything as a group ever again" implication.

Nobody said anything about "never doing anything as a group ever again", but maybe just not immediately on the next quest.

The problem isn't the people, it's the writers. They wanted to make everything so dramatic, they put more emphasis on the "we're leaving" part, and forgot the "will never change a thing" part.

It's not much to go on, honestly, but I'm down.

I'll admit, I wasn't SUPER crazy about how Endwalker ended (it felt a bit rushed, like it could've been broken into two different expansions; "Thavnair & Garlemald" then "Elpis, the Moon, & Ultima Thule"), but it still felt like a good story overall. But I'm really liking the direction of 2 of the 3 ongoing stories they're setting up (I'm not a fan of Zero right now), but the writers have certainly earned the benefit of the doubt, imo.

That said, I agree, I would love to see some NOT-scholarly types as main characters. I would love to see more of Magnai and Sadu (clearly meant for each other!), although preferably Magnai could be more of a rough, brutish personality and maybe a different accent or style of speech. I also really miss "Yda", I feel like there's a happy-medium for Lyse but I wish she were a little more brash. Also, I feel like Pepin Tarupin really needs some time to shine, as well.

I feel like that was the whole POINT in breaking up the "Scions" was that we'd get some new allies to partner with for a while. Don't get me wrong, I still love seeing the old crew, but some new faces in the rotation would be nice as well. Really loving "Varshahn" as well.

What they're suggesting is that they were watching the cutscene, Alphinaud announced the disbanding of the Scions and that caused elation for a decent amount of us who were eager to see the story move on from the Scions. That the decision was reversed five seconds later does not negate those initial feelings.

In itself, the game likes to dangle potential consequences as a 'shocker' but then immediately reverse them which is becoming stale to some of us.

If people are still using the excuse of "but the scions disbanded" as an argument for anything, then I'd say they are clearly ignoring what the actual MSQ plainly told them.

I have plenty of complaints about the writing in this game, especially when it comes to all the fake-outs and nonconsequential actions, but that doesn't change the fact that the Scions haven't disbanded. :X


As to the topic, I'm not really a fan of Krile as she seems kinda...dull. But to be fair, I skipped most of HW & SB, and maybe she shined more in those xpacs.

All I know is that I am firmly opposed to Krile joining the main party and bringing back the Scions for 7.0. It is time to get bold, get creative, and revamp the cast. Zero was a step in the right direction despite her issues that I've touched on previously, but there is little to look forward to with Vtra and the rest of the party at the moment. Picking the Scions up again would be more detrimental than beneficial at this point.

It is time to start anew.

Clearly you don't care to have an actual discussion, you are just looking for an echo chamber. I'm sorry I don't agree with every bit of nonsense you come up with in your headcanon.

The game is about the WoL and the scions. Has been for 10 years.

They aren't going to completely change the focus just because an arc ended.

Actually, Good. Kryile never really contributed, so if 7.0 she does more, Im all for it.
She is a Scion thats mostly in the background, this gives them a chance to show maybe can can do more then "stay behind" or get body snatched.
