Island animal capture rate

Capture rate needs to be increased. Right now 90% of the I time fail to capture any animals.

Well, although the idea communicated by that player was done so in a somewhat crass manner, the core idea of what they're saying is correct. Your complaints seem quite premature.

Some things in games will be rare and require you to try dozens or hundreds of times to get the item. If you are brand new to MMOs in general, then I am sorry you had to find out this way, but there will be many goals you'll come across in either this or other MMOs that simply don't come easy. They're going to take time.

Completionists know this. Those that don't like the repeated tries don't become completionists, and leave the stuff behind that they find boring or repetitive.

Further, one person's response shouldn't be coloring your impression of the forums at all. This is why real life is so completely messed up right now - we see one bad thing happening and then we lose our minds and say, "all of (thing) is terrible." One person's response isn't representative of "the forums," as a whole. Just as one person's actions in real life aren't representative of their peers in the same job, others of their race, country, creed, religion, sexuality, etc., etc. ad nauseum.

So, here's the thing. If you post a rant on something you haven't attained - after ten or fifteen measly tries - you are going to get some pushback. Many of us have tried hundreds of times for things that have a 1% drop rate or 1% success rate. So, yes, it can grate on some nerves and come off as fairly petty when these complaints surface.

In another famous MMO, I tried once a week for nearly 100 weeks to get a mount I wanted (curse you, Lich King!) And that was on two or sometimes three characters a week; a total of over 300 tries before the thing dropped. At 20-30 minutes per try. So... yeah. Complaints of this nature, where you spent a half hour gathering and maybe another half hour for the tries... can ruffle some feathers. That's normal for any human participating in an activity with others of varying experience levels - that behavior isn't limited to this game, not by any means.

A capture rate change isn't likely to happen unless they see a pattern (on their end - not forum complaints) of people being unable to catch this creature. And since I see none of that, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Honesty, no sugar-coating. Doesn't everyone prefer reality to hand-holding? I sure do.

Ignoring the snobbery above me, at the very least they could make it less wasteful with regards to resources required to capture them. Just let it fail on the first one if it won't be caught, rather than having us craft a bunch more restraints just to have them all fail.

You act exactly how I'd expect you would based on your character's appearance. Perhaps you got lost on the way to an RP session?

On topic though, as a completionist, I think the catch rate is stupid. Just because some people may have struggled longer than someone else, that doesn't mean they don't have the right to complain. It's frustrating. Sitting there going "ackchewally I've done things that are hard so it's annoying when people complain that it's hard" makes you look like a snob, and also just a generally insufferable person. This is me not ignoring you. Would you like me to continue, since ruffled feathers is a valid reason to be an ass, according to you?

you basically have two choices.

you can choose to put up with it and try again later.

or choose to not engage in said activity.

others have made these choices - and as mentioned before, there is no sustained documented issue of there being anything bugged or glitched or wrong with said activity. so it is working as intended.
