Bump. I think we need to take a step back.
I don't want the dependency of debuffs like slashing back.
But not having everyone on the same strict burst window would be so nice and could again make the jobs feel more different.
It should be fine to have a big all together opening burst at the beginning and after downtime phases.
But what could be the other option to archive that?
Weaker buff's?
More group buff's?
Different kind of buff's? Like old AST card's.
A selfish buff? It gives your character a 10% increase but everyone else just 2%.
Longer CD? Like potion's.
But whatever SE does, the community will try to put every rotation back into a situation we have now, because buff stacking is almost always the most DPS option.
Buff stacking is definitely the way to go, but coordinating your burst with a team still feels infinitely better than every burst naturally lining up, because classes are designed on rails.
Hell, Yoshi-P even personally stated it would bad design to do so, when talking about moving certain buffs to odd or even minutes.
It sure as shit killed Ninja's class identity.

personally I have the feeling that Positionals will bite the dust, aswell as gaugeless buff abilities like Life Surge and Fight or Flight.

With exceptions yes… for the love of god please do not take MCH back to Stormblood we suffered once we don’t need to be punished more.
For MCH alone please go back to Heavensward. Idc give me back my caster barrel and bullets..
I mean, Kaiten was core class identity and they did just say; "Hey but what if we made Shinten the class identity of SAM?" Almost positive thats what they said. Maybe they shoulda spent that Reaper money not only on just Reaper, also using it on getting other jobs to a better point. Still worried about AST/DRG changes NGL; they scare me.

in hindsight, SMN changes should of served as a red flag.
Could do something like WoW with Bloodlust. Have longer recast party buff(s) (6-8m) so everyone only needs to worry about aligning buffs once or twice per fight after the opener. That way there's more flexibility in when it can be done and more time for jobs to play their own way.I don't want the dependency of debuffs like slashing back.

The tricky bit would be making sure all jobs can align with the buff(s) without screwing up their rotation. Reaper has no problem bursting when they want but SMN has no choice. If SMN isn't reworked again to have more flexible burst it could be one of the jobs that gets a big group buff to control when it happens.

I'd rather go back to Stormblood gameplay provided there are some tweaks such as MCH and keeping TP/resistance debuffs removed. EW is mostly an extension of what made ShB's job design terrible cranked up to eleven. Almost all job changes they've made since 6.0 launched have been laughably tone-deaf, the few good ones have either been because of favouritism or flukes. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is our first time having unviable week 1 jobs since Heavensward?
