Friends Account gotten stolen.

My friend got his account stolen and it got attached to an authenticator. So now he can't reset his password. I have sent a GM in game message and he has started a support ticket but won't be able to do anything until Monday (support is only M-F). Can a GM put his char in jail until this is resolved? He has tons of gil and hard to get items. He clicked on a phishing site that looked like the forums.

You got to wait for support ticket to get it resolved.



Don't ever visit random links from strangers next time. 99% is phishing, check website URL or use 1Password, LastPass, etc. These apps can check real site or not, fake site will not autofill.

He has learned his lesson. He usually is skeptical of stuff like this but just didn't really pay attention to it this time. His account has been logged off for some time now about 2 hours since it was stolen. I reported to a GM, so I hope it was jailed or temp banned through SE's log-in location tracker. We were about to play and poof his account was gone.

He has since called his bank and stopped his subscription and banned any square enix payments from going through. Won't hear anything back from se until.

He got his account back but it is still suspended from being compromised. They found who took it but wont reveal if there are any items or gil if any has been removed. He wont know until it is unbanned.

A lot of people fell for the scam in this game. Not just him. Well thats good he learned his lesson. Even i know the link was a fake when i first got a tell from a scammer on a compromised account thinking i would fall for it.

To people out there with gullible brains, think smart . Dont click on any fake links that leads to gil giveaways =)

Yeah he's Kinda bumbed out about not playing for a few days to a few weeks if his gil is missing. But atleast the scammer doesn't have his account anymore.
