Alexander computed out the entire timeline, past, present, and future, which would have included both the 8UC and G'raha's actions. A critical part of their calculations was actually revolved around the future actions of the Warrior of Light, if you recall Dayan's explanation to Mide at the end of the raid series. Alex was quite possibly the most powerful primal we've ever seen. I know that as an established mangaka you feel compelled to defend your work, but some things were just not meant to be, reddit memes aside.

Anyway, using Alexander as an excuse is funny to me. Because that means you're fine with a computer primal deciding and handing pre-ordained fate to mankind because he calculated it. This is against the game theme, and more importantly, are we forgetting dynamis? The deus ex machina that enables impossible things to happen

"Alex is the most powerful primal" lol. Your primal can't even function properly without draining the surrounding aether in an instant. Where are you going to find enough aether for him to function more than a minute?

Damn, can't believe the game truly said "you guys will be sacrificed so the protag (and only his world) can survive" to the 8UC people... u_u

Also, it's entirely in the realm of fanfic, but it's not impossible for an alternate resolution to the problem to be found. For now, their world is still shielded by Zodiark and the elder Ascians likely still exist to keep Fandaniel's ambitions in check. Hydaelyn might recognise that the time loop is broken and can give humanity a more direct warning about Meteion when needed. Everything would play out differently.

Speaking of, how does AltVenat knows about meteion if the WoL of that timeline died? And nobody else went back in time. For all we knew, the sundering that happen there might be an accident, or maybe she truly that mad. So yeah, 8UC timeline is screwed no matter what, because their hydaelyn doesn't know anything. Their only hope is midgarsomr, but what can a lone dragon do to save etheirys?

There are many things worth debating in the Lore of FF14. I am of the opinion the time travel is not one of them. It is so beyond poorly written and stupid you HAVE to ignore it in order to have any kind of conversation. (By ignore I mean blindly accept the way it works. I know I know it is painful but there is no rationalizing or fixing it. Just got to roll with it.)
