You just seem generally upset about cross content, for some reason.
You post boils down do "content in X should be grindable in X".
Self gear repairing falls into the same category. It's battle content that requires non battle content grinding to interact with.

You mean the tomes that are given out for every bit of even casual content, including joining a hunt train? How is that in any way equivalent to requiring a pentamelded crafter and expert crafts?

You can't get tomes efficiently in any non-battle content that I'm aware of, which mean then your issue isn't necessarily that there is crossover between different types of content, just that you find the grind excessive?

I was under the impression crafting and gathering were casual content. Have I been doing the equivalent of hardcore raiding and not known it?

That's not ridiculous at all. That's how crafting already works! For example:

I can grind out Titania EX for the rare drop to craft a Titania weapon, or I can buy the rare drop from the market board, or I can buy the final crafted weapon from the market board.

Weekly raid tokens would just be a different grind.

I have the fountain. I like it better then the windmill so I have it up, but not having it does literally nothing. It does the same thing as the other landmarks do. With the Water Otter fountain being the 5th landmark and there are only 4 spots, you're not missing anything not having it.

The interest is indeed limited, there is no way to place it in such a way as to make it the central place of your colony.
It's either out of the way or nothing, which is a real shame and diminishes the interest. At best, I think the 3rd location before unlocking the lighthouse.

I meant grind your crafter and learn how to craft experts. If you don't want to or can't, then save up and buy it.

Still struggling on why that's an issue. Be self-sufficient or pay someone else to be for you.
