Story unravelled (sorry SE) (Spoiler: Patch 6.2 - 7.0)

Things that are discovered, uncovered and theorized are:

- Connection between Contramemoria and flood of darkness.
- Connection between Golbez and the Thirteenth god that was sealed away in the moon.
- Connection between Igeyorhm and Shemhazai.
- Connection between Igeyorhm and the Thirteenth.
- Connection between Igeyorhm and the Twelve.
- Connection between the Twelve and Pandæmonium.
- Connection between splitting soul and the Ascians.
- Connection between the Twelve and the calamities.

i don't think the gods non interference rule would allow them to cause calamities. theres also the fact they really do seem to love all mortals.

That's how the Ascians rejoined shards into the Source: the Thirteenth was the first that Igeyorhm tried to rejoin and failed at, and instead flooded it with darkness. It wasn't until later that they found the balance of slowly flood a Shard with an element, deprive the Source of that element, and it'll siphon from one of the Shards to regain it, causing some manner of disaster on the Source when the Shard is rejoined since it's flooding the Source with the missing element. Dark and Light are unaspected, since there's no actual element to them like lightning, wind, water, etc. and as said in Shadowbringers, Dark is Astral (always moving, kinetic energy) and Light is Umbral (stasis, unmoving, sluggish). Louisoix stopped the Dark-aligned Calamity from being worse than it was, however a Shard was still rejoined. The 8th Umbral Calamity was stopped completely via the events of Shadowbringers, and as of Endwalker, no more Calamities should happen... hopefully.

Re: saving the 13th, they mentioned doing the same with the 13th as we did on the 1st a lot, and have mentioned Eden plenty. Further in the all ShB 70-80 role quests completed,

we learn that Cyella was the female elezen with Ardbert and she was actually from the 13th. In the follow up quest, you bring Unukalhai to the First to meet with Cyella as he was also from the 13th before the corruption. In some new dialogue post 6.2, both Cylva and Unu are surprised to hear that you've traveled to the 13th and may try to save it.

It might also be that since all the elements have been represented or activated clock-wise along the ring of the elemental wheel. According to the Eorzea lore book, the three conquerts and three submissions fit very well to the remaining Twelve gods, if we exclude the gods that have been represented already.

By taking into consideration the three conquerts and three submissions, and the nature of the gods that represent the elements left that are associated with these. I propose this possible relationship.

Umbral Fire / Condemned Souls (Nald'thal) is stopped by Umbral Wind / Freedom (Oschon)

Ice is melted by Fire.
Umbral Ice / Emotionally troubled (Menphina) is stopped by Umbral Fire / Peace in afterlife (Nald'thal)

Wind is obstructed by Ice.
Umbral Wind / Depression (Oschon) is stopped by Umbral Ice / Love (Menphina)

Darkness and light aren't elements but aspects, synonymous with astral/active and umbral/passive energies respectively.

Proposing "astral light and umbral light" as elemental combinations is in the realm of proposing "dry water and wet water".

And the madness and bliss thing has no canon basis to my awareness.

The main thing that's sticking out in my mind is the prophecy in the Studium quests suggesting some manner of change is going to befall the Lifestream and invite disaster, and now the latest Rising quest speaks of a great "change" that is about to come to the world.

Given all the stuff that's happened lately between the flood of dynamis bearing down on the world (And apparently still lingering in some capacity), the droves of Ancient souls within Zodiark returning to the aetherial sea, and Hydaelyn's absence potentially having unforeseen consequences it would be more surprising to me if something about the natural order didn't get disturbed sooner then later.

Its becoming very highly likely related with the end of a certain current raid right now.

I think the only thing that is for sure is that Golbez will remove his helmet and reveal himself. They've done this with every villain, except Estinien possessed by Nidhoog.

I'm not sure that most of the connections made by the original post are even going to factor in here.

But I think Golbez being connected to the Ancients is likely given that one of the final scenes of 6.2, which is a flashback Golbez has shows him with what appears to be an Ancient. Plus the 6.1 cutscene claims they've waited nearly 10 thousand years to execute their plan.
