I'd agree with you here, but since there is no reliable way to gauge a person's skill in PvP, I'll take something like a NIN or MNK over a RPR anytime, any rank.
I have yet to see a reaper get over 300k damage in any group I've played with, up to about gold. Can't tell if it's the players or the job.

It's the player/matches. Reaper in the hands of some crystal's is super scary because of the sustain, burst if they get death warrant off properly, and the LB. Reaper and Dancer is especially deadly as they have aoe sustain and 2 lb's that can break guards for hard pushes/aoe LB's. I was Gold 1 - 3 stars and got put against some the top 100's that were in Plat in the first few days of the season and I got wrecked by like 3-4 straight games against Reaper & Dancer combos. Main thing with reaper is if they're focused/cc'd and if they know how to escape or not. Reaper's burst is purely in the death warrant window so right timed guards or stuns/silences during that window will chunk 10-20k+ of their dps for that 20s burst window depending on if its normal or if its LB boosted damage.
Kills, Deaths, Damage done, Healing done, are extremely good indicators of performance. Especially if you compare them to someone of the same job on the other side.
Now, I'll give you that Reaper is slightly different because it has some utility that is not reflected in those metrics. Like using your LB at the right moment to break some guards, get people off the Crystal and win in OT, stuff like that. It's also more of a single target job which will not dish out the same AOE damage as most other jobs.
It's more of a : If you know how to play the game, you can appreciate what a reaper did for your team kind of thing. Unfortunately, it is by far the job that is used the less efficiently (at least in NA). In lower ranks especially, a reaper is almost always a death sentence.
You can turn that into an advantage. Like yesterday, I was queuing up for the first time, saw a reaper that was absolutely useless. I switched to reaper and I would win each time I'd face them.
thats a real round about way of proving their point.Kills, Deaths, Damage done, Healing done, are extremely good indicators of performance. Especially if you compare them to someone of the same job on the other side.

200k for me. It usually ends with them at 160k damage dealt and 300k damage taken.
Except you don't see any of those metrics until the match is over, at that point they're only good for knowing which player(s) you don't want on your team next match. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the job is useless, but when the team screen pops up and you get a DRK/RPR/DNC/BRD/SGE and they get WAR/WHM/BLM/NIN/MCH, it's kind of over, unless the enemy is really bad or your team is godly.Kills, Deaths, Damage done, Healing done, are extremely good indicators of performance. This exactly, theres been matches where its just a steam roll because of this and i just straight up start /dance in the back XD200k for me. It usually ends with them at 160k damage dealt and 300k damage taken.

That, isn't a good thing. So if you get matched up with someone who you know is bad you either have to play twice as good to pick up their slack, give up or hope the enemy team is worse?
