That's probably the worst possible solution to the problem.

I'd only be pissed at SE. Harshly punishing the players in order to try and force them to witch hunt rule breakers so they don't need to solve the issue themselves would be a bonkers decision.

People wouldn't datamine if they made the full fight available to all players at a more forgiving difficulty. Just lock out the gear from casual dweebs like me. Or give nonglowing loot to casuals and glowsticks to Savage bois.

There's nothing wrong with having hard content in the game. Some people enjoy pushing themselves to be better/enjoy fights that require some modicum of brain power to succeed at. If you don't want to do it, that's a you problem.

New stuff always gets datamined. If there were no week-delay, they would've just datamined it hours before the content dropped instead of a week before.
I genuinely don't understand why people are treating this like it's any different from all the other times this happens. Was something bigger leaked than usual?

The leaks have nothing to do with savage being higher difficulty content and everything to do with some players doing everything they can for an advantage. It probably won't amount to much, if anything, over the entirety of progression but if someone connects the dots right then it might just mean something.

Square Enix have already said that savage being delayed by a week in an experiment and might not remain for the next tier. I'm sure this is one of many things they'll consider in the decision making process for the third and final tier of the expansion that'll come with patch 6.4.

Nope, just the usual stuff, including Savage fight forms, move names, and that sort of thing. Nothing really important.

I think you have the right of it. Stuff gets leaked so the big name streamers can prepare for the content more readily. The age of gaming where there are genuine surprises are few and far between. Because those guilty few ruin it for everyone else.

People were delighted when they found out Brute Justice had another phase in Savage. But now you never really get excited anymore because someone spills the beans before they even get to buy the bag.
