Full pentamelded optimized gear is insanely expensive to get, and I have never done it. I mean, you have to meld a lot, but nowhere near that insane requirements.

My non-specialist crafters stand right now at 3580 crafting and I can make the ilvl610 HQ gear with near 100% success. It's all thanks to preparing the appropriate buff foods and fine-tuning my own macros.

Figuring all that out and achieving my goal despite the insane 3700 requirement was the most fun I've had on this game in a while.

That's a common misconception. Yes you CAN make it very expensive by buying all IX and X materia but it's so easy to obtain them nowadays. I have full pentamelds and I didn't buy that many off MB.

As a fellow master of sarcasm, I know...but remember whether it's insulting or toxic is in the eye of the beholder. I've been banned from here for less fwiw (last week, even). Anyways, I've an abundance of purple scrips and premade turn ins so I might even try this lol, just for fun. And to add, my personal opinion is crafting got too easy, I too miss the Olde Days of ARR but when getting started it is a steep learning curve i think. Hells, I just levelled my alts DoH/L to all 90's and it is one heckuva grind even with the Firmament. If OP sticks with it they'll likely find it's not so bad and pretty easy actually. And that's what we should aim to show them without kicking them when they're down

As actually helpful as this is (I was wondering myself on the new Scrip set) you could have totally spun this post another way and not come off as combative. Yes the OP is frustrated and maybe not understanding the system as a whole we get that. I mean, I've been accused of being toxic a lot but c'mon...we should take the path less travelled once and a while..

I'm just gonna call out this bull$hit. You need exactly one (1) food and FOUR (4) materia to reach 3700 Craftsmanship even with the most hobo set I can think of.

Thanks for that. But I have all that minus the materia and 2 pieces but what I have is under 100 points difference, so adding that I'm barely over 3300 - 3400 ish. so Sorry but that does not work, Unles I am missing something I could be.

The point of my post wasn't meant to be "I want things easy" post. It was an expression of frustration with hitting what I see as a wall and a suggestion of how I see it could be done better..

Maybe post your gear set up and what you're using and people may be able to point out what you missed?

It really can't be easier than that. Unless you imply that you want to reach requirements for second hardest crafts in the game with empty gear slots.

Getting enough materia is cheap (though a little time consuming), when you understand and take advantage of spiritbond and related buffs (FC buff is the best route). Making those top end crafts does wonders for generating materia.

missing that the materia is available with tomes for one I imagine, but all that set up needs, is the tome gear you say you are using, and level 89 standard crafted gear.

without knowing what exactly you are using, you sound like you are missing a fair bit

Thank you all for the replies, the helpful and the not so much. My point isn't I want it to be easier.
I found my problem, I do still need better gear. BUT even when I do I'll still be under the minimum. I am leveled enough.
No crafts should be higher than maybe a little higher than base to try. Thats my point here. Success on the otherhand is a different question.
With minimum it should be hard, but minimum shouldn't be this high.
