

Lets be honest, it wasn't a mistake now was it, they didn't expect the playerbase in FF14 to be so poor and unskilled as they are, the mistake from the devs is not setting expectation that they should player better from earlier on.


It's almost like lowering the skill celling for nearly all content affects the game in ways most wouldn't have though. Very strange, I wonder if other games have decayed in the same manner. :^)
No, they were literally tuned to require more DPS than a team could achieve with the minimum item level gear for the final floor. Not an issue of skill level, just pure numbers.


To go with your statement, theres nothing wrong with that, getting gear is part of the process, you are trying to assert current design to before, theres nothing wrong with tuning a fight to have a certain gear level, but that was not a mistake lets be honest.
A3S was the static killer when I played last.I don't recall the devs stating any of this. From what I recall, the problems began with Gordias, continued into Midas, and started getting better with Creator. There was a lot of trial and error back then, and current content, even Ultimate will never have the kind of difficulty associated with the inexperience between dev and playerbase that AS had. Regardless with how you feel about savage, the majority of the playerbase is incapable of clearing that content. If you disagree, start up a PUG in PF and see for yourself.

And the constant Yoshi-P "git gud" memes coupled with them having no idea what they wanted to do with job balance.... Early HW was annoying.

There was no mistake, just people werent good enough and didn't farm for enough gear if we are talking about ilvl.
Completing savages in min ilvl isnt an intended design, players need to constantly get gear as they continued.
