Please enable data centre travel between regions

My biggest fear, and probably a good reason to never allow cross-region play -ever; is the cultural/language differences could upset the natural order of the communities within; for example- I firmly believe a large portion of people would just go directly to the JP region and that.... well, i don't think that would go over well. (and thats putting it mildly)

EDIT: The only realistic way i see cross-region play being even remotely allowed, is that ALL chat functionality would have to be disabled, including the emote system for players visiting said region. Why? Because some people just cannot behave themselves.

U can create a character on any datacenter right now, what stops me now? I can even do a transfer.
How many people use data center hops right now?
There is TOS for players, who cant behave.

They should allow EU/NA/Materia travel. And they should have moved a couple Japan servers to Materia. That was a cop out given it's going to take forever for that DC to gain momentum. I'm able to get stuff done there but it's hard if not in prime time. 24 man content is a joke and even pvp can be hard to get to pop outside of prime time.

I have a character on Japan and I've not had problems but I only run casual content there and the problem may very well become an issue with extremes and savage given the cultural differences and play style.

Personally I don't think they'll enable it.

Oh yes. I have friends on NA and OCE and it's sad I can never play with them. And levelling alts just for that would be pain, especially with high ping and, in case of NA my times not being so ocompatible for queues, and in case of OCE queues being kinda dead even at prime time. Plu it's a lot of work just to play with people every once in a while.

As for people pointing out language problems...on EU people already speak many different languages and a lot can't speak English (since you know, it's a load of different countries with different languages) so...it would be nothing new.

I don't have any language issues and I have endgame characters on Chaos and Lite. Content runs find although one does need to take into account the time zones. If you want content in the evening NA time that'll be the middle of the night in Europe so one does need to plan play time around that difference.

There are issues, not big but they're there. But we're used to them and working around them. Especially with the other officially supported languages, French and German, it can happen that somebody only speaks those and they have the right to since they're officially supported. So having to use auto-translate or having to switch language can happen. Or just people speaking very poor English so you kinda need to decipher or again swap to their language if you know it (in case of unsupported languages too). Or maybe those people are quiet and you think they're just not listening while they're not understanding a word you say. It happens. Just saying that cross-region wouldn't have languages being a problem, since people speaking different languages and playing together already happens regularly.

And by the way, Materia doesn't need mroe servers, it needs more people. From what people say, they have way too many servers for their population and would be fine with just 2 or 3, and people do move from the emptier servers to the more populated ones (Sophia and Ravana) to have a less desert situation (but queues still suck).

Yeah, that would have gone down like a lead balloon, the idea WAS suggested, but as I am advised, it would NOT have been a good idea as I am told ( third hand only but I was on Kujata, a JP server before i moved to Materia), the jp community was very much against it.

I can understand and appreciate that , as it would have been a huge dislocation for many of them, the lack of inter regional DC travel would have made it worse. it would have split friends and FCs widely..so while it was considered, the reasons against were, IMO, sound.

In retrospect I am glad they didnt, as I would not have wanted to see an entire server community fragmented suddenly.

They need to enable DC travel then or some other incentives. I'm going to see how 6.2 pans out. I'm not going anywhere for me this DC is a chill one for me but housing isn't filling, PF and DF are very week even in prime time so dunno. I have a large FC and a small cabin right next to one another in Ishgard so I'm happy with that. I feel sorry for those who moved mains mine is a transfer/skip and I'm enjoying the place. My island here is the most advanced at the moment although I have 4 up and running and they're all close.

I always find things to do and the hunt scene isn't bad pretty easy to cap here.

Your dreaded weebs will go to JP servers as is, the majority of us have 0 interest playing on a server where we can't understand what people are saying.
