Journey to all fish: 1383/1729 (348 remaining) [79%]
Since everybody accessing this day one seemed to be clogging up the instance servers, I'm sure the time gating has something to do with prolonging the life of the content, but also something to do with encouraging people not to sit on that instance server 24/7 so that there is room for everyone to access what they need to access at some point.
Yeah that whole Rank 8 in 3 days is just super unnatural for me as a player. The content is so meant to be a fun distraction while you wait on queue for roulettes or doing other things.
Imagine being that hardcore about it :v.
Yep. All that grind and you still have to wait to earn currency.
That's a poor example because in this example you're making it out to seem as if everyone needs to complete the task at the same time.Timmy A and Timmy B are casual and they can only play 1h per day but every 30 days they can play as long as they want.
Tedd A and Tedd B play 10h per day.
Timmy A and Tedd A live in a timeline with gatekeeping and Timmy B and Tedd B in one without.
SE introduce a new outfit that you get for actively play the game for 30h.
Timeline A:
Only 1h per day will count.
Timmy A and Tedd A will get the outfit after 30 days despite Tedd A had played for 300h and Timmy for 30h
Timeline B
Tedd B after 3 days has unlocked the outfit meanwhile Timmy B won't get it for another 27 days.
I'm sorry but no timegate clearly favor casuals.
Besides that... you seem to forget all the small nuances that time gating has. How convenient.
Think about it this way. Casual and no-lifer start at the same time. Casual can play more on the weekends and can't even log in on the weekdays due to being tired or busy. Casual's weekends can only allow for them to put 3 hours of playtime in before they hit the time gate. Casual could potentially log in to use the resources they collected in the weekends during the weekdays quickly, but again, they're too tired or busy.
Meanwhile no-lifer is going to have a timer set and always jump right into the content as soon as the time gates let up. No-lifer will complete said content at the earliest possible moment, even if they are constantly time gated from doing so. Meanwhile casual will likely find themselves even further behind as they aren't immediately rushing to their pc/console to dive back into the game the moment their time gates are up.
The people that no life this game are always going to be ahead. Time gating content just means that the people that no life are going to be even further ahead.
Its basically a slightly more advanced Doman Restoration that will be supported in the future, but people internally hyped it up to be some game changing major content they could invest countless hours into despite the developers stating countless times to not do that.
How about this for a response. Why are you bringing attention to these shops in the first place? If its about the whole "this is removed from the rest of the game" argument, I think you're misinterpreting the idea here. Its removed from the rest of the game as in "this is not a required thing to do in order to progress in other aspects of the game such as msq, raids, gearing etc."
In case you want to point out that the vendors sell IX tier materia for gear maximing, you do realize there's multiple ways to acquire them and this is just yet another way you can obtain them if you so wish?
Excuse me for the assumptions here but I generally dont know what you're trying to get at here.
