    I think you overreacting a bit, you make it sound far more difficult than it is. You just do 3 clicks to chose someting and start the production and all you have to do than is come back later and collect the reward, thats it. No Excel Bullshit needed. One workshop can que up to 2 items per day as far i could see and you can have up to 3 workshops.

    you can que up to two weeks in advance, toss the items in the hoppers, and then don't even bother coming back for weeks

    I think they're talking about how you can maximize your token acquirement. Like sending things out with potions every day does bring in tokens, but you'd get more with say textiles/armaments.

    My experience of the Island

    So ! I played a bit on the Island (nearly lvl 6 now) and as I LOVE the idea and the concept, I would like to share my feedbacks. Maybe it can please someone else ande maybe² SE dev team will read it one day.

    First, I would like to say that I REALY like it ! Any feedbacks I will make could seems harsh, but please do not take them that hard. My overall satisfaction is good. Feel free to discuss around these points ! Maybe you have some ideas I would love to read too !

    What I liked:
    1. The mood / ambiance. The music is perfectly themed with the activity. I like to be in a place stressless of any fight content, doing my tasks how I want, when I want. I never feel in a hurry to complete something, and I am not bored of chilling around either.
    2. The overall game design: The concept is great, farming in order to make your settlment better. Definitly an animal crossing vibe. I like the way to make you Isle evolve and the leveling system. I am seeing forward to see the automatisation with our litle robot friends. I like the way things can grow up during I am disconnected (the fields of pumpkin for exemple). And I enjoy just putting a bit on water on them time to time.
    3. The tamming mode: I realy liked to be able to "hunt" then to take care of my karakul
    4. The selling: I like the way to gather azure token with the craft and sell part. It is a real management part when you have to think how to get the good ressources in order to maximize profit.
    5. The size of the island: It is big enough and not too big to cross. I feel it is a perfect size for a playground
    6. Being able to queue for something without being kicked out. Same for /whispers available ♥

    What I do not like / what I feel can be improved
    1. The fact that I cannot play this content with friends. Yes you can invite or join your playmates, but to do what ? We cannot gather together, we cannot improve buildings together, we cannot share items... I feel lonely and I would have loved to do this with my best mate in order to build our island. More, every player have the same Island (except the buildings site choice or the 2 or 3 option of decoration), so I do not feel the joining/ inviting usefull for now. But I would love to help a friend or to recieve help and work together in the future.
    2. The lack of gamification: Someone said it before, one click, one result. My feelings are splitted on this point. In one way, I like to have, just like animal crossing, no pressure on doing stuff. Is is never possible to fail and it feel great. But in another way, it can feel boring or cluncky maybe ? In A.C. you have some event like the gift you have to shoot in the sky, the fishing wich can escape, the bees that can fall from the trees when you shake them... Maybe it could be something to have that kind of "happy failure" sometimes
    3. The sprint: Someone said it before, we can spam our sprint action like a dumb machine, it is just odd that we do not have a on/off switch, because it can definitly be on forever.
    4. No fishing (yet ?)
    5. The lack of housing: I know, Yoshida said it during a live letter, BUT, it could realy be something if the customisation was like the housing. For meany reasons. The first one is that it can solve the actual state of housing problem. Everybody can have their island and friend can visit. That's awesome. More, everyone could have a more unique Island and you could have another purpose that just farm tokens and unlock new buildings. For now we can just customise roofs and roads, and it feel not enough for me. I do not know if it is technically possible, but I'd love to be able to place items where I want in my settlement (even if there are only Island limited items)
    6. We cannot go in some of the buildings: how to go on the floors of you mill ? Feels sad not being able to do so
    7. Understanding the market: It feels a bit complicated at first to understand what is the best to make and to sell. You have to open many windows to check the requirement and result and it feels a bit too hardcore for that kind of content I guess
    8. The tokens: For now, green tokens do not feel very usefull. And I am a bit frustrated that to unlock new terrains we have to spen the same token than those for the mount for exemple. We have to make the choice between glamour or playground, and in a way I do not like it.
    9. Timers: Maybe i just miss this one, but I would like to know when my plantations or my karakyl are going to be up. A timer which shows the approximative time of growth could be awesome
    10. Naming our Island ?
    11. An aetheryte to go on our Island ?

    If you want to earn a reasonable token income, you best be looking at the demand page and reasonably hitting efficiency bonuses.

    Excel ? Nah ... a cookie clicker with timegates, the only thing missing is the part where we can buy a skip >.< the idea is amazing but the excution is bad. Its is extrem grindy without any reason, the gameplay loop is so streched that calling it a gameplay loop is a strech in itself aka gameplay is missing as soon you are leaving the tutorial. Sad but atleast we get a sneak peak of SE's high quality mobile gaming first hand on the pc, even without a shop (at the moment hurhur). /s

    In all honesty, its kinda nice and bad at the same time. Building stuff, gathering, running aroung on your Island is kinda cool but also empty, meaningless and shallow. I did not expect any high value stuff ( or anything of value, just the island and done) or mounts , heck not even minions but atleast things that make the island truely yours like furniture, decorations and the like but all this is missing. Also why is the gameplay loop simple click on a menu and leave island for xx amount of hours ?`A gameplay loop that play itself with just almost no interaction from the player ? Sorry but this is horribly mobile gameplay design without the predatory shop to make it complete. I hope we get some patches to fix this. The base looks good but selling goods with these timegates i epected more minigames just to do stuff on your island. I think nobody expected Mount, minions or gil from this. Just something on the side without the constant competition or safe the world/universe stuff. I do like these games, i played Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Graveyard Keeper, Animal Crossing and many more but "this ain't it, chief". Sorry Yoshida this time you and your team missed the mark, atleast for me and i hope for patches. *starts inhaling copium*

    I agree with most of your point of view exept the "mobile gameplay" part. I realy like to let my pumpkins grow meanwhile I am doing something else. Is is more a management game design and I personnaly like it.
    Like you I expect more minigames or things that make the Island more interractivly funny in keeping this no pressure gameplay

    I finally tried it out recently and agree with most of this.

    Why did this take so long again? I assume in Yoshida's hipocrisy after all the talk of how 1.0 era SE focused too much on graphical fidelity they spent most of that time making sure the Island looked pretty. It's a simplified version of 2005 resource management browser games sugarcoated with the map you can run around in, with time gating of mobile games.

    I just dont see why a house plot couldn't be one of the unlockable plots on the island. A plot where you could install a house like in any residential area with a yard and exterior structure, and an instanced interior.
