Revelations from Patch 6.2: Buried Memories

It would honestly feel like a bit of an insult...

to spend more time developing Elidibus and Lahabrea then not even give them a proper send-off at the end of the raid story, so I'm really expecting them to find some semi-logical excuse for at least the former to show up in spite of him supposedly being deader then dead.

I'd really like that.

Elidibus and Lahabrea showing up to help us take out Athena, probably with Lahabrea apologizing to us in his own way (meaning likely a logical reasoning type apologize). Not to mention it'd be a proper send off for Elidibus, other than his random self-sacrifice thing, and a proper redeeming of Lahabrea to the playerbase besides his whole "I sundered myself and went insane because of my other self sealed in my soul crystal."

my guess is

the memory crystals are used as anchor points so athena could drag pandaemonium into the future. that way lahabrea and elidibus cam be present despite present them being gone.

Holy crap! We know that it all happens post MSQ Elpis. As some of us were confused on the when. Venat not only told Elidibus about us but also our past self. Who again is hinted at having some kind of future site. Azem must have put a lot into our Charisma stat if Lahabreha who I still don't quite trust him also warns Elidibus to be weary of being around them cause Azem seems to be that one friend who you know you should stay away from, but you love the fun they bring too much to do so. Ancients need to learn to invent therapy cause holy crap Lahabreha that is not a healthy way to deal with your emotions. What does Eric say if you choose the ur dad took a friend's body for a ride response?

Main Scenario

Lots of details on the Thirteenth world:

- The Flood of Darkness prevents death in the Thirteenth due to everything shifted to "activity", which implies the Lifestream is no longer functioning there (and if so, I wonder if that has any implications for Zodiark's fragment there).
- Expanding on Unukalhai's summary in from 3.3, the crisis that led to the Flood of Darkness was called the Contramemoria, where "memoriates" sealed the eidolons (primals) in memoria crystals (auracite), only for many to be corrupted by the Darkness leaking out and becoming warlords that created the first voidsent.
- Zero (Zenos's reaper avatar) is apparently a "half-Voidsent" (like Vauthry?) due to being exposed to Darkness while still in her mother's womb. Her mother was one of the memoriates who did not succumb to temptation and fought against the corrupted memoriates. Both Zero and her mother were fighting a doomed last stand before the Flood.
- Golbez has captured Azdaja, and the Archfiends were ordinary voidsent "uplifted" by being granted a portion of her draconic aether.
- Zero's domain has a callback to a certain infamous book in the Great Gubal Library if you talk to the mindflayer NPC there.
- There's an optional quest in Radz-at-Han after completing the Main Scenario that goes into Scarmiglione's and Barbariccia's backstories.

Pandaemonium: Abyssos

A lot of twists, especially Lahabrea sundering himself and Athena being the true villain. Though, I can't help but notice two things:

1. Hephastios enthralling the keywards and wardens is very clearly a form of intentional tempering like the primal system the Ascians taught the sundering races.
2. The manner in which Erichthonios sealed Hephastios seemed very similar to how Zero sealed voidsent into auracite/memoria. Considering what happened to many of the memoriates on the Thirteenth, and Lahabrea pocketed the soul crystal with his evil half.....

not really. at least, not that i remember. i do remember him being a bit standoffish the longer the story went on but that might be wrong since its been more than a few years.

Yeah I was wanting to try and give some positive feedback while also trying to give them glimpses of some things Lahabreha did and that option just felt a bit too cruel.

One point of interest to me, regarding the Abyssos revelations:

Claudien was mentioned to be going to Azys Lla of all places while in pursuit of the crystal that resonates with the one he has. We do remember who we took down up there, do we not? I'm expecting that Lahabrea did not destroy his crystal, repeating his mistake prior, and that it remains. One almost has to wonder if we're seeing evil-Hesperios as our modern-day Lahabrea, the twisted and sundered portion of the past Lahabrea. The two identical crystals would make sense - a message from past Lahabrea in one, and the antagonist half of him as the other.

Zero is just some of the absolutely worst tropes compiled into one and I have no interest in her. And for some reason the WoL is so eager to make friends with her, I do not understand. When Y'shtola said Hydaelyn meant for us two meet, that was just.. ugh. Plus I'm just incredibly suspicious of her, nothing good is going to come out of her strolling around the Source. A huge red flag to me.

Exploring the void was surprisingly fun. I liked talking to the voidsent, they were like more dark fae-folk. Scarmiglione was amazing, I loved his voice acting. Can we trade Zero for him? Thanks.

Raid

I could smell Claudien getting into trouble from a mile away, but Pandemonium appearing in the Aitascope? That was a twist. I wonder how they're going to play this because our mission isn't necessarily done in the original Pandemonium either. Are we going back, or was that it?

I did not expect to come out of this liking Lahabrea so much. I think they did a good job of making him sympathetic, but not a victim.

It was neat hearing more about Azem and how they are perceived/what their relationship is like with others. Yet again our likeness is compared to that of Azem's, which I have conflicting thoughts about.

I agree with others wanting Elidibus (and perhaps Lahabrea) to come assist us in the present in aetherial sea-Pandemonium, in whichever way they can. It'd be nice to have one last chat with Themis/Elidibus specifically, because I feel like he deserves the peace of mind.

Nothing major, but MSQ-related I just wanted to mention...

how happy I am they remembered to update Cyella and Unukalhai's dialogues over at the Crystarium! Cyella will mention she was once a memoriate too and that she'd like to meet Zero, if only as compatriots. Unukalhai is excited about the prospect of joining you, but says he'd just be a burden BUT ALSO that he's interested in the restoration of The Empty as something that might aid in doing the same with the 13th, and that he's planning to meet up with those responsible! Ryne and Gaia hype!
