    "Melee jobs" in Frontlines

    Their damage seems fine, but considering how little up close Fighting some jobs need to do, like ninja, and how effective their escapes are, do they actually need this much damage reduction? I\\'ve seen melee make big mistakes, then escape from situations that definitely should\\'ve resulted in a knockout.

    With jobs being rebalanced and even ranged needing to push into melee range, it seems a little overpowered. I think red mage has about as many melee moves as ninja? So why the discrepancy? The pseudo "melee classes" get pretty incredible damage reduction. Honesty they feel like tanks, they just don\\'t have the limited invulnerability abilities.

    Anyone else feel similar? Is melee fine? Are they too durable? I think their damage is fine, esp with how many ranged attacks melee have. Only tanks should be this tanky, right?

    Melees are way too durable. All of them. And I mostly play dragoon in Frontlines, so a nerf would impact me a lot. But it's just ridiculous.

    At the beginning of a match with very low Battle High, a dragoon with Life of the dragon (extra 25% damage taken) can still survive like 10 people targeting them without breaking a sweat.

    I agree with your points that ninja especially is way too durable. It has self-sustaining abilities, can get away quickly while disappearing and is usually at range. It should not have that much base defense.

    Melees being able to fight against 5+ players and run away free seems fine for SE. Whats the point of playing range classes that deal 1k per attack to better versions of tank?

    It wasnt hard during feast move set. I fought 5+ consistently. But the thrill of doing it now is slim to none

    DR should be back to what it was on launch. nerfing range damage AND giving them 60% DR or whatever nonsense it is was overkill. only need 1 of those changes.

    This is an appropriate change. Ranged jobs already have a tremendous advantage in nearly all PvP situations. Seeing them reined in a bit is nice.

    I've stopped playing ranged for FL and now stick to melee. I still feel bad whenever a ranged dps tickles me, though. d:

    Even as someone who only plays dragoon, the damage reduction has taken a lot of joy out of FL for me. Before, a melee's ability to kill and stay alive seperated the good from mediocre. Now, you need a team to take out damage sponges, regardless of their skill or yours.

    But with all the changes to the jobs, there isn't much of a difference between some ranged jobs and some melee. Maybe it's just because I'm a Rdm main, but I can't help thinking, maybe It's not as black and white as it used to be.

    Like some jobs that are classified and given all the advantages, like native damage reduction, of being a melee oriented job, while also having all the advantages of ranged abilities. That's the distinction I was trying to make.

    Healers shouldn't even bother trying to attack melee, you basically run because your hitting a brick wall. Even if you combo every ability you have, they just press Recuperate once and they are fine. Then you got SAM which can take 5+ people and still instant kill you with their Limit Break through Guard.

    If you are going to have Tank like toughness, maybe you should get Tank like damage as well. Or less healing ability.
