yeah lets just have them not even do anything and just have every NPC stand still with t-pose with absolutely no flavor nor personality in an rpg, just to save those few precious seconds of our ever waking lives just to get to our inevitable demise much fasterHow it has become accepted, even normal to just ignore the Commendation feature. It often doesn't matter how good you do, how friendly you are, how helpful you are, or how well you know the content. Most players just leave faster than you can exit the cut scene and race to try and try and throw your commendation out. It bothers me that titles and mounts are locked behind commendations that are nearly impossible to get.
If you think nobody did a good enough job to deserve one, that's fine. But I have a hard time believing this is the cast 100% of the time. I wish they would make it an opt out system. *shrug*
Also, it bothers me that I have to wait for NPC's to /emote long, complex strings of emotes during side quests. I can't count how many times I've rappid fire pressed buttons wishing I could skip them and their 50 second emote chain. It's just a side quest...let me move on!
Haydens "problem" is people being in the way of their personal benefits/goals (yeah, the system is stupid, but it simply is what it is). I take it you're attempting to make it way worse and more widespread on purpose?Hmm... just spitballn here but... add a buff to players who give comms that increases their sprint duration by 1 minute for x minutes (or other random buffs, like free teleports for 30 mins, 200% exp / spirit bond on open world monster kills for 30 mins up to 25% level or 200% spirit bond progress), and add to the weekly achievement a little bit of end game tomes (not a lot just like 1 roulette worth)... Maybe at the end use our new profile plates to label players best achievements. Like 'most mechanics dodged', 'most damage', 'most support damage', etc. Little fun badges of honor, attempting to avoid the situation of NOT giving a player one lol-- which might help players make different decisions than "must gib to tank and healer". Might pick the SAM for doing most damage, or maybe MCH for most mechanics dodged (/completed).
Seriously off the wall thoughts though.. might need further discussion for potential consequences.

By worse you mean more people using it, and spreading out the commendations from the default usual of healer and tank then yeah sure.
This by the way would then help Hayden's issue as more would be using it, even if capped.
Of course the other idea might be to extract everything from the system, but I doubt that more than enhancing it's usage.

Just make it so you can commend outside of the instance. I like getting out early so I can get into new stuff and sometimes I forget to tag people.

Blatant ignorance that Square Enix have towards bots.
6 months of reports on Materia and the RMT bots in Eureka Pyros have destroyed the economy.

Aye but sure you knew this already. The bot issue has been a thing since day 1. It's never going away. At least it keeps the prices of shards down. As long as it makes Square money they have no reason to curb out bots. Makes no sense for them to do so.

This should definitely be done ! But that won't address getting people who rush the exit as they don't care getting back into it. Like rushing the exit as you say and wanting to use them seems like it wouldn't be the likely reason many just bounce out, seems to me more likely they leave because comm don't matter to them or they already gave theirs and don't want or believe they will get one (watch how tanks and healers stick around, but DD who give them just leave). Hayden has a two part issue.. just because they can give a comm doesn't mean now they'll be getting them, if people are leaving in a hurry or as we all know there is bias'd commendations (be healer or tank, drown in comms).
Adding personal experience, I see many people leave quickly but I'll often see their comms anyways at the end (when playing tank or healer). While I have given my comms to DD, certainly I fall into the trap of healer if I'm unsure.. (Or tank depending on the quality of the wall 2 walls or what have you). I have to imagine, simply my IMO of course, that there are not that many lost comms from people who wanted to take part in the system but didn't because they wanted to get the heck out of that stinky run lol. Anyway, just seems to me if we want to see more comms and spread them out it's going to take more than just letting people comm those who've left. Particularly because I most often read "I wish I could have comm'd the person who left quickly" who is most often a tank or healer... Lol (who probably didn't stick around because they already have more than enough xD).

Let's be fair, comms don't do anything anyway. No one is gonna pat you on the back and say well done, you have 10,000 comms. No-one will ever know how many you have unless you are out bragging about an arbituary number that no one cares about or has any bearing on gameplay. If you want comms just play healer. Healers get them handed to them for just showing up, no matter how awful you play. This should definitely be done ! I would agree to that lol. Tank or healer if you want comms, doesn't even matter if everyone leaves quickly you still get them (from personal experience). Which is why I was doubting on how many lost comms there are, as I see DD leave but it's like x3 at the end anyways.Let's be fair, comms don't do anything anyway. BUT some people viewing them with a sense of lack of value is why I suggested giving comms gives you cool, non-game balance destroying, gimmick buffs. Giving a comm rewards yourself, imo, would increase the amount of comms given because why not. Now they would likely still be going to the same people which is why I followed up with the suggestion to take advantage of our neat new nameplates and toss some cool blips of info on it.. though I imagine there will be a bias to particular blips. Like it might be people start picking most damage for comms and we've shifted from tanks to DD or something weird lol.
I get some people would be like "oh cool the system I disliked is even more pronounced now", but honestly I personally like tossing a little gift at people even if it isn't super valuable. In some ways I wish it was more valuable. Like commendations throughout the week might have minor impacts in non-balance (ultimate, savage) situations. Die in open world, a moogle comes and revives you and lets you know someone appreciated you, or whatever. Systems akin to Death Stranding or Dark Souls, imo, are really interesting quiet social communities- and at least personally would think it interesting to generate a similar situation. Would love to see people help evolve the system to make statements like you say "don't do anything" not be as true as they are currently.

I'd rather just stick with the old tried and true saying to people when they've done well. I'm forever doing mentor roulettes and when I get a good team I make sure to let them know that they've been a good team before the last boss or when we've made good progress on a boss. No need for this commendation muck. It's anonymous anyway, I'd rather just let them know up front that they are doing well.
