There's no reason to leave Uldah right now as it is...LL and Grid seem pretty barren to me O.o This should help spread people out, maybe. Probably not but it won't hurt.

after the merger... some servers could get populated enough that Ul'dah's wards would start to fill up and people would be forced to spread out... maybe....

Anyone played FFXI recently? Making travel to/from the main cities super easy, adding the abyssea guys to the main cities, linking all the AH's ... ... ...
Port Jeuno still causes people to lag out and DC, no linking the AH's will make it possible to not go to Ul'dah for everything but w/o some for of "universal" shout system everyone will continue to congregate in 1 place for the sake of catching shout groups for quests/events/raids that they want to do.

This has already happened, at least on Gungnir. I removed a retainer via the bell while I was in Grid to access the inventory, and when I went back to Uldah to replace it every single ward was full. I should have never taken it cause now I wont be able to sell jack. Fix please...
