The male hairstyles were the same short hair, and made me laugh pretty hard.

It's almost as if there can be variation in the way men style their short hair just like how there can be when women have variations in the way they style their bangs for their long hair. Ponytails do not a whole lot for either gender and at this point I'm pro-genderlocking hairstyles if it means we get something more interesting than the same sort of generic hairstyles we've been seeing. They're boring.

It is 2022 and FFXIV should be doing a whole lot more to impress me on the hairstyle front - and that includes doing more for Hrothgar than just adding ears to the hairstyles that they took them away from.

I am glad I am not the only one who saw those pics as nearly identical... like I am all for more hairstyles, but in my own opinion they where... rather dull.

Each to their own, I guess. I imagine people primarily playing female characters aren't going to be affected if the numerous requests for more short, masculine hairstyles designed with male characters in mind are honoured.

It's also interesting. I've been consistently asking for more short hairstyles for male characters for years and it's often the same posters showing up time and time again to downplay and sabotage such requests.

Well, considering lost Ark is almost a decade newer, I would hope it would have higher quality textures.

And you kind of missed my point in regard to the image.

Aveyond was showing in image with near identical hairstyles, while complaining that we have too many variations of ponytails.

Its less about the textures and more about how they're made for me, no strange volume in places that shouldn't have or decisions that just ruins the hair(samsonian locks's broom-like ends for example). And tbh FFXIV's hair textures are pretty bad for a 2013 game.

They gonna unlock the gender restriction on some of the Mogstation gear and I love it

Overall the notes look good and i love the new pvp mout.... finally a dragon.

I think that for the most part, players choose the gender they prefer their character to present as and aren't all that interested in wearing clothes of the opposite sex aside from, understandably, the pants that are often locked to males while women get what feels like an excessive number of shorts in place of them.

While that is indeed frustrating, there isn't a lot of demand for men being able to wear dresses or skirts, especially not the ones from the eastern online store sets that are incredibly rare to see being used in game.

Well, my interest in Rival Wings has gone right out the window.

Will have to test once patch drops honestly, the giant mechs used to be scary with right pressure and a good/average Brutal Justice decimates players with team support.

Same thing with the base operable turrets, those hurt.

I dunno, I bet there are players who would want more masculine/short hair for their female toons. To be clear I am all for more hairstyles of masculine, feminine, and NB design to be added. It may not effect me much, but it would be a bit selfish to just care about my own needs in an MMO! I just feel the hairstyles given as an example where rather lazy and dull personally. Could also be due to not being a fan of that games overall style anyway haha.

Have to say personally I disagree. Women in suits kick ass. My WHM Glam is her in a butler-like suit and if the Mog Station one ever goes on sale I will be tempted to get it myself. I have seen players ask for more suits for women, and recently more so male players ask for more short-like looks for summer/beach builds.

Even if that is the case, I do not see why gender locks should not become a thing of the past, especially in regards to future/new gear and Mog Station outfits. Customisation should also be open, not restrictive, I feel. Plus whilst I will not pretend to be an expert, I doubt it is the removal of gender locks that is hogging the resources/stopping new designs and updates being created.

If people want to wear dresses, bloody let them wear dresses. Hell, it's cultural IRL as well for men to wear flowier stuff than pants or shorts. So who are you to judge?

People clearly wanted these restrictions lifted since Stormblood. And the devs are acquiescing. What others do ain't none of your business, let people play the game as they want to.

Well id love more "Masculine" Options. My character isnt another typical pretty Princess. So is more of a Tomboy.
Id love there to be more options for Pants instead of Skirts and shorts. Id love to be able to wear alot of the outfits that are Male only; some of the Garo Gear for instance.
Id love if the Scion Outfit had an option for Females to wear the Tie instead of that Prissy Ascot.
Id love if I could wear the Male Version of alot of Store items
Quite happy am I that I can wear the Loyal Butler Outfit on my Main here, and for giggles I can wear the Maid outfit on my Hrothgar Alt.

There probly isn't ALOT of us, but Im sure there is a decent Number of us that would love if they made more Gender Neutral outfits, or offer options that both Genders can wear either set.
