Then to buy from that person's retainer, won't they have to fly to Gridania, if they want to avoid the tax from buying off the item search menu? Honestly I don't think a linked MW system will show much improvement. People need a central hub for LFG shouts.Because it'll stop all the people who used to go to Limsa or Gridania to buy stuff? Both of them? Don't be ridiculous. Right now everybody sells in Ul'dah, because everybody buys in Ul'dah. Everybody buys in Ul'dah, because everybody sells in Ul'dah. When the three markets are merged, people will sell everywhere, because people can buy everywhere. People will buy everywhere, because people selling everywhere are available. It won't stop Ul'dah from being a hub, but it will *lessen* the centralizing tendencies, not worsen them. Retainers in particular will spread out because it triples the available ward space (quadruples when we get Ishgard). Crystalier's Row in Ul'dah full? No reason not to take the retainer to Crystalier's Den in Gridania.
Stick it in my Balmung.
But if the tax is equal to 5000 gil (at least I think that's the cap for buying from menu), then it'll be the same as the airship cost. T'wil not be worth it unless you were buying several items from distant lands.
In which case there's no reason to leave Ul'dah with a linked MW system.
Stick it in my Balmung.
