But like. Why do you need to be locked on in the first place? That list of issues disappears if you just...don't lock on. I can see people using lockon from a distance to run a straight line to the target initially, but once you're in range why would you need to lock on? Forward and back while in melee range will have the same basic effect whether your camera is pointed directly at a boss or off to the side, and autoattacks/blocks/parries do not require you to maintain facing unless you are Bound, so what do you gain from being locked on at melee range?
