The movement in this game is fairly generous with the option it offers to me, however I believe something could be done with the underutilised /lockon feature.
As an example of what the camera view looks like, citing the recent JP guide on how to dodge AOEs (all rights to the FINAL FANTASY XIV and Square Enix):

That is the Lock-On mode. It essentially lets you do perfect circular movement while keeping the focus on the boss. However, it does come with a problem:
If you use a backwards input (default: S-Key, left stick down tilt) it makes you backpedal, a feature rarely useful and usually quite annoying if not handicapping. This happens regardless of camera mode (Standard, Legacy).
What a good version of lock-on should look like is the one from Kingdom Hearts I, letting you move omni-directional at full speed. Here an example from Regular Pat's video:

Essentially, what I am asking for is for the movement with lock-on to replicate the Legacy camera setting, where using S-key / L-Stick down tilt lets you run at full speed.
This would allow long-term use of the camera mode without having to remove the lock and re-apply it to dodge for example a circular AOE centered around the boss.
