    I don't think they consider fighting in bikinis or wedding dresses a 'canon' approach to their main story and instead handwave it as 'something the players can wear/glamour to events or casually', while throwing a extra bone to them that some pieces can work pretty well on 'combat' outfits.

    You see it in their trailers when they tease main story/trials/alliance fights and PvP preview cutscenes - They always wear what is proper to them.

    The problem with the glamour system is it holds to much data..
    It holds dye colors signatures melds for every single item in the dresser because they're all actual items.. even when some of that data is lost if you take the item back out.

    All the glamour log should be is a tick of 0s or 1s against a list of visual models.. in this fashion every glamour a player has would be a single bit of data.. would be so much more efficient. And it would make capacity virtually limitless. As in the same string of data ot takes to store 1 item now. You could store thousands.

    A start is letting us put mogstation items in the armoire WITH whatever dye was applied. I am fine with the rolelocking especially rolelocked accessories because as we saw in the past ppl will use it to cheese their ilvl into content if they dont so we gotta blame the players for being lazy.

    There are already ticks in the crafting log for the things we've crafted. Why can we not right click to apply glamour? Or browse the crafting log when making a glamour plate?

    Glamour in the dresser can have a colour attached to it (which prevents dye usage), which means the same item isnt exactly the same. You can have the same item with a diffirent colour in it. This makes a boolean value not work here.

    In a well normalized relational database, combinig things like items, materia, dyes etc. is is not a problem. Relational databases are built for something like that.

    But without the sourcecode of the game, we cannot know why SQEX struggles so hard with extending things in the game.

    Gear in the armoire doesn't have dyes but you can open the armoire through the dresser and put something from there onto a glamour plate. In place of an actual glamour log we should be able to access the crafting log the same way as the armoire.

    Well yeah, like everybody says it's ridicolous.
    Him saying not to fill it all right away means that he knows very well how limited the system is and how lttle even 800 slots are.

    Getting rid of role restrictions would help, especially with accessories, but honestly the whole system needs to be changed into something not limited. A game with so many fashion choices making you have to throw glam away and not wanting to collect it, because you knwo there's no space. Imagine if we had to do that with say mounts or minions, having to decide which to keep and which to discard.

    The restrictions on the accessories was put back in HW because a meta was formed around the tanks, focusing solely on striking pieces instead of fending due to the back then 100% Attack Power gain on Strength. Folks also started using accessories purely for itemlevel boosting, regardless what type it was, with one particular case having been discussed in these very forums around a bard using fending accessories to bypass gearing up.

    Both got eventually solved by SE during that expansion, and since then those restrictions were in place.

    They already had a fix in place. Disciples of war and disciples of magic. Just put the split back in on all gear for glams.
