Auto-crits are simply the result of inexperienced QA testers and job designers. They don't know what they're doing. That's why I wouldn't try to theorycraft too deeply into their reasoning and logic. There isn't any.
What's hilarious is they may have recreated the very meta they've been trying so hard to avoid since Stormblood. Assuming potencies aren't rebalanced, Warrior is going to all but demand at least two of SCH/DRG/BRD in every party otherwise it'll be a bad time for their logs. DNC and SAM will be married again and SCH is once more the god tier super healer of optimization. Meanwhile, the expansion mascot meme continues as PLD goes straight into the bin. We'll have to wait on the patch notes but they may have locked WAR/DRK/SCH/AST/DRG/SAM/BRD/BLM as the de-facto comp by a significant margin. NIN and GNB can probably sneak in, and you probably won't feel too bad bringing one of SGE/WHM but could be Stormblood all over again.

Logs are defaulted to rDPS. WAR literally doesn't care who is in their party as long as kill time ends in :15. On the other hand, it finally gives SCH/DRG/DNC a reason to have a previously zero-contributing WAR in their team instead of defaulting to double DRK cause 2-minute burst go brrr.

That's was my whole point though. Warrior is now directly buffing those jobs, which will make it a desired pick and a lock for a lot of parties depending on potencies.

This is all assuming that there are no other changes coming to job balance in 6.2, which we will have no idea until the patch notes drop. SE's track record on balancing after changes like this isn't too great, IMO, but there really is no way to know until the notes drop and we see. Just glad I feel like I can get some benefit from buffs on warrior now.

Nobody is going to bench a static member because they want to play samurai, it sounds like a YOU problem.
Um, what? Have you played savage or ultimate? Name a point in time that SAM was best. Go ahead. I'll wait.

Your point doesn’t make much sense considering it would only be a buff to those jobs that were already losing raid dps from having a war in the party in the first place

SAM was very popular in 6.0 speed run teams, majority (all teams for p1s) of the top 10 teams of each floor had a SAM in it, with or without DNC.

I don't agree with them about SAM being best in the game for years though and I'd have to pick out specific patches to use as examples

DNC/SAM is the only thing it had going for it, which Monk still did better overall than SAM iirc. Speed Kills are okay but they're a microscopic part of Savage, and not a fair representation unless there's huge outliers (IE 2+ minutes from normal

Edit: Needed to reread and repost my entire shtick. Tired brain, sorry.

rDPS only takes a portion of the damage you deal under raid buffs. Warrior still benefits from having those jobs in the party in the same way the other tanks do. A DRK, for example, will parse worse in a selfish heavy comp simply because they have so much burst under raid buffs. Regardless, if it pushes favorable kill times, that also will contribute to WAR wanting specific comps.

This is simply wrong. A job without raidbuff will parse the same regardless of comp provided all other variables are identical. This is the point of rDPS. The only jobs that suffer from current state of auto crit/DH and crit/DH buffs are the ones with aforementioned buffs. The auto crit/DH jobs don't care.
