I'm just gonna quote myself from 2 pages ago:
Glamour without restrictions* is long overdue!

I was off work two days and already got a dude complaining that PC can have chat bubbles or whatnot.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
No, you're just confusing that with the simple fact that after everything you've said on the subject over multiple threads people simply see little to no reason to even acknowledge that you're in the room, let alone give you any constructive reply.
Role glamour restrictions abolitionist! For more details and to help us spread the message:

You say I'm confused, yet you and others will insist the devs are cheating the restrictions somehow, showing ignorance to the process of creating the content.
They are starting to get like Blizzard with their "My way or the highway" mentality.
That is why I am going to a free trail account for awhile (So you all are saved from my corny gif signatures and sarcasm). Free players still get a $hit ton to do anyway......I give them mad props for that. I may come back to retail after I max out the free trail stuff, idk.
Between BLU (One of my favorite classes in past games), no BST, No Emperor's weapons for other classes like mages due to the same excuses.....And not being able to glamour other jobs like their past mmo (Which comes up with every excuse in the world not to do anything, but managed to do that) I just don't feel like it is worth it. I play mmo for creativity; I like to let my creativity run wild. Can't do that in XIV.
I usually avoid restrictive mmos, in terms of customization/creativity. Huge Digimon fan, but DMO has very little in the way of customization, so I simply play their other non-mmo games instead.
Like I said in my BLU post, still dig the game, but compared to XI, it is VERY restrictive. Perhaps being a hardcore superhero mmo player spoiled me. However, other mmo sub genres followed their lead and allow very deep customization options. Pretty much every modern mmo, save XIV.
XIV is a AAA IP, no excuse.
And ironic to make the game more solo friendly with trust, but their argument against cross class glamour is "Being able to tell who is who."
And you're not even playing an expansion-locked race.
But don't worry, people will surely make up excuses for it. Even likely deny it's a AAA IP.
As if we need to tell who's who when we have a party list.
"Sorry tank, couldn't make you out from a crowd because you're wearing a robe"... right
What if the healer and the tank are both the same race and sex and are both using the same Mogstation outfit?
glamour restrictions are stupid anyway because everyone wears the same generic casual glam so that just proves that the restriction is unnecessary since the job recognition """issue""" already exists on paper but in practice nobody notices/cares and are able to recognize people because of weapons and ability animations
Even in a (horrible) world where Glamour didn't exist:And you're not even playing an expansion-locked race.

"I need to recognize the dpsers from the healers..."
What if a Monk and a White mage are both wearing Edengate? Striking got the same item as a healer... STRIKING of all people.
Belive or not this is what a Monk would wear in the 1st raid of Eden if glamouring wasn't a thing:
But tbf I don't even remember them having this "recognition" stance. Isn't that like an outdated thing fom 5 years ago? Even if they had, mindsets change.

There's a great post by GrizzlyTank on the first page of this thread that shows how arbitrary those restrictions are. In most cases, they either pick the two random jobs to share an appearance or there's barely any difference in the first place (e.g. having a single shoulderpad vs two)Even in a (horrible) world where Glamour didn't exist:

That's probably the most frustrating part when it comes to scrutinizing glamour for details...
Ravel Keeper head of Scouting is a huge plume attached to the back of your head. It actually works really well with ponytail hairstyles... Except if you are Striking. They have the very same plume but with an ugly headband that clips on most of the hairstyle's bangs.
It's good that in the end we have items with little variations to them. Some people like headbands, others don't, some like shoulderpads... I personally don't. But then, not being able to transit freely between those items is very disappointing.
