That's fine. I am just saying that such an option is there.

You've completely missed the point, and I think a lot of people are unfortunately on that same wavelength.A band-aid? You got an opportunity to go to a ward where there would be like 2 bidders on average on a medium or a large, especially if it's in a very attractive location. How is it a band-aid when your odds for getting a place in a New server is substantially better compared to a more populated server where you may have a better chance of rolling an SSR waifu in a gacha game? Yes, you won't be able to play with your friends, but have them come over, or at least make an alt and settle on a plot of your choosing there along with your friends. You can whine and complain to SE about the changes and maybe share your own inputs on how they can make it better, but even if such changes were to be taken into consideration, it'll take lots of time to actually implement when compared to everything else.
Besides, Island Sanctuary may be an instanced playground for us to have fun on, but even Yoshi-P himself said that it's not a substitute for the housing we have now. So if I were you, I'd take this opportunity before you have to wait for another expansion's lifecycle or two for new houses to come. If you are not willing to transfer, then make an alt with your friends at a New server and start from there.

I was trying to get a house in Phoenix til transfers to new servers opened up. 200+ bids lost every time. Moved to Alpha - got medium in Empyreum being the only bid. Now waiting for FC mansion in Mist with being the only bidder so far as well. Moving servers works quite well for housing even with the rubbish lottery in place.
The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.
Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.
Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.

Yes it does and with DC travel and WT keeping in touch with friends isn't as hard as one might think. Obviously that doesn't apply yet to different regions and one can only hope we will get that at one point. I want to be able to visit the EU and Materia the most and Japan too but I suspect the Japan nut is the one holding this up and might be a hard one to crack.I was trying to get a house in Phoenix til transfers to new servers opened up. 200+ bids lost every time. And congrats on your housing additions. I have a large FC and a small private right next to one another on Sophia Materia and 25 of the 30 houses in my sub are still open including all the mediums. Transfer an alt if you don't want your main, give it gil and things you'll need and help grow the data center. That opportunity won't be around forever.

Do this while you can folks. Don't be afraid to export your gil on an alt even though your main character will never see that gil again. It's not as if you're gonna be able to spend it on that housing you were saving up for anyway. Before sending my gil off with alts to Oceania and Europe, I used to have more than enough to buy 3 larges on Balmung. Now I can't even afford one... but that's OK. It doesn't have a huge effect on my chances of ever getting a large house on my main XD (or anywhere in NA for that matter).

Currently, it exists as FC rooms and apartments.
The simple, yet expensive, solution would be adding more wards.
A more complicated solution, requiring a rewrite of housing as it now stands if one doesn't want to lose the features already available, would be what this poster means by I̸̘͛ǹ̶̡ś̸͇̼̄t̴͍̝̍ą̶͕̿ņ̸̬́č̸̼̬e̶͖̝̋d̸̜̀̕ ̶̳̰̑̚H̴̢̒ó̷͇͗ų̴̝̏s̷̓̍ͅi̵̍͜n̸̠̆̕g̸̼̓̔ ... I'd certainly be in favor of such a solution, as long as the poster isn't expecting it before, say, the 8.0 expansion release. That solution will be as expensive, from a hardware point of view, as adding more wards.
If there were "plenty" of new players you wouldn't have already admitted to making this post encouraging people to abandon their DCs to join yours lol.
We still see complaints from time to time that OCE is too low pop, suffers from long ques, can't fill out DR, whatever. The fact that you're essentially advertising for is "come join a dying on arrival DC, no competition on housing" speaks volumes here really lol.

I went to a house that had 0 bidders and got it the next day. The entire ward had 2 bidders max per plot. The only reason why the old system felt better to a select few is because the absolute majority isn't much about clicking a placard for a few hours. The old system was absolutely crazy. With that being said, there should be more wards.

well i have a big house and a little house and got rid of the little one so am happy good luck with your war on house's.
So you are at 7+ plots now? Dang. That's what I ended up doing - 6 times. One housing alt for every server in Materia plus another one in Raiden in EU. It has actually become something of a speedrun challenge for me. I purchase an ARR story skip and then level warrior to 50 and get GC rank to 2nd lieutenant. I got it down to a personal best of 6 hours 44 minutes on my last guy.
The plot availability in Materia is crazy. You can still get any dream plot except Mist 5, which is the seaside large, and Lavender Beds 11, which is the lakefront medium. If getting a house is really important to you, it's time to take action because fixing the housing shortage in established worlds is obviously not a priority for the dev team.
