So many complaints and yet people won't resort to a simple solution.

I get it. Lottery is terrible, hundreds upon hundreds of bidders in a single plot. I know that the lottery will not ensure your houses. But if it means so much to you guys, why not go to a server that has significantly less people than where you are now? Is it because you have friends there? Or the accessibility of the content you can play?

I too wish we can all have a house of our own. But we cannot always have our cake and eat it too. And while it may not always be a good idea to move over to a less vibrant server, think of the benefits:

    a) a fresh start
    b) with more people like you guys moving over, the population grows and so too will more content options be open to people
    c) Road to 80 buffs if the server is a New one so you can power level all your jobs really quickly.

This may sound like I am asking people to come to the server I hail at (and I am), but I am wondering, why complain about your woes when the solution is just right in front of you. It's not an ideal solution, but if you care that much about having your own property, then we'd be happy to have you over.

That's what I ended up doing - 6 times. One housing alt for every server in Materia plus another one in Raiden in EU. It has actually become something of a speedrun challenge for me. I purchase an ARR story skip and then level warrior to 50 and get GC rank to 2nd lieutenant. I got it down to a personal best of 6 hours 44 minutes on my last guy.

The plot availability in Materia is crazy. You can still get any dream plot except Mist 5, which is the seaside large, and Lavender Beds 11, which is the lakefront medium. If getting a house is really important to you, it's time to take action because fixing the housing shortage in established worlds is obviously not a priority for the dev team.

So far, every good plot in Shirogane, Mist, LB and Empyreum is taken. And by that I mean those fancy locations for Larges. In Goblet though, theres a huge availability of premium mediums (the ones by the pool) that there has yet to be a bidder for weeks. I get that our raiding scene in PF is very barebones and the meta for strats needs a lot of adjustments. But seriously, move over to Materia and I would give you all gift baskets.

    It's not a solution - it's a band-aid at best.

It shouldn't even have to be that difficult - having to choose between wanting a house over your RL friends, in-game friends and others that you play with all the time. No, it's not just about housing and if some specific person would get over their affinity for that neighborhood feeling *cough*The Director*cough*, and implement a true solution such as instanced housing, and being able to keep a neighborhood, it would be a solution.

It's already been proven that instancing will work:

    1. Apartments
    2. Island Sanctuary

I guess it's time I write out my complete and total thought process on how to give an idea to SE on how to do instanced housing while keeping what they have in place. The only thing stopping me from actually doing that, is I know they have no care whatsoever on ideas/thoughts/suggestions from anyone on NA servers.

A band-aid? You got an opportunity to go to a ward where there would be like 2 bidders on average on a medium or a large, especially if it's in a very attractive location. How is it a band-aid when your odds for getting a place in a New server is substantially better compared to a more populated server where you may have a better chance of rolling an SSR waifu in a gacha game? Yes, you won't be able to play with your friends, but have them come over, or at least make an alt and settle on a plot of your choosing there along with your friends. You can whine and complain to SE about the changes and maybe share your own inputs on how they can make it better, but even if such changes were to be taken into consideration, it'll take lots of time to actually implement when compared to everything else.

Besides, Island Sanctuary may be an instanced playground for us to have fun on, but even Yoshi-P himself said that it's not a substitute for the housing we have now. So if I were you, I'd take this opportunity before you have to wait for another expansion's lifecycle or two for new houses to come. If you are not willing to transfer, then make an alt with your friends at a New server and start from there.

    d) leaving your friends behind
    e) crappy market economy with little to purchase unless you have the option of data center hopping and few to sell to because no one is going to waste time going to a world with a sparse selection on the marketboard.

    a) Not everyone is interested in starting over when they're put a lot of effort into getting established where they are. People generally aren't fond of change when they've found their comfort zone.
    b) Which means moving away from where there already are plenty of people for doing all content for the maybe there will be enough people to do content several months in the future.
    c) Road to 80 is only helpful if you have more jobs you want to level to 80. It would be useless to someone like me.

I don't want to discourage people genuinely interested in transferring but I also want to be realistic about the situation. Unless someone is pretty much a solo player and they're desperate for a house, or they want that fresh start you mentioned for whatever reason, there's not much genuine incentive to transferring that isn't offset by a number of negatives.

OCE's problem is a group of OCE players went on a campaign to convince SE that opening a OCE data center would bring a lot of new OCE players to the game. So, where are those new players? Are they in the process of leveling through MSQ still (which would be very understandable) or did they never materialize?

How about this: let people complain when something is not working out, cause there is literally no other way to encourage change but the way of feedback... there is a reason most work places have periodical evaluations for employees and queries for customers.

There do be plenty of new players in OCE to be sure. I have had more people play through ARR and HW content than even Stormblood.

At the end of the day, let's face it. We cannot always have our cake and eat it too. A player in a more established server will always have content to do, but the housing competition will be super fucking fierce that you need the luck of the Irish to get the house you wanted. A player can complain all they want, but at the end of the day, we cannot always have our way.

Sorry, but no thanks. Lag is bad enough playing on a datacenter that is actually nearby my location. I understand what you're intending and where you're coming from, and I do hope you can get more OCE players to join your datacenter, but I cannot be one of those players.
