Crystalline Conflict is the least fun I've had playing this game.

And by least, I mean that it isn't fun at all!

I really expect better of you guys and I'm so disappointed. It feels like you threw this mode together without even considering the issues that would crop up. You touted this as a new fun PvP that would fix all the problems of Feast, but in the end you didn't fix any of them.

Finally got my Raigo pony and the Archdemon coffer so I never have to touch this god awful mode again. Thank god for that...

+1 I was excited for this, but I ended up disappointed too. I detest the new pvp kits, but I thought hey at least the new mode could be cool.... ha. Problems are too numerous to mention. I dont know anyone in game who still does it after they got their FOMO rewards from it. I'd expect the same for the next series pass

Oh look, another angry echo chamber thread!

Believe it or not, but not everyone dislikes the gamemode and just like with every other piece of content in the game you are not required to like it or even play it.

6.1 PvP certainly has some coarse surfaces that need polishing, but this does not stop casual pvpers to queue whenever.

I certainly as someone who has been PvPing during times when Id wait up to three hours for a match see Crystalline Conflict as a massive success in accessibility alone. To me the new age of PvP is fast and active combat and I love almost everything of it, just some tuning here and there and its pretty much golden.

And yes I feel you regarding netcode and other things, but you can just learn to play around it.

But to answer something: Yes 6.1 did fix Feast-based problems, not generic PvP problems.

I know plenty of people who still play it but I can maybe count on one hand the number of people who actually enjoy it.

I enjoy CC so much more then Feast.
It was a great upgrade for PvP.

It won't be my most played content but it became content I like to play.

I honestly don't understand how people can say that when PvE is the must boring stuff. Personally, I find the PvP stuff amazing. I hope we see more of that come over to PvE.

Cause we compare them to the old pvp kits. And personally, I also hate the new ones compared to the old ones.
Also, pople are allowed to have opinions.

To be fair, it would be interesting to understand why you do, because everyone.has their own take on what is bad or good. What is it for you?

Well for example, as a healer I liked feeling like an actual healer, now healers are more green dps with some heals/shields. And pvp was the only place where you actually felt like a healer, since in pve you're always more of a green dps, considering the lack of healing needed. Now the whole thing relies more on everybody drinking their spammable "potion" and healers helping a bit. Rescue was always great, and way more useful in pvp than pve.

You're also generally more reliant on LB than you were before. And everything is way more cc-centric (and I mean crowd-control, not cristalline conflict).

In general my thought is that what we had before worked well and there wasn't a reason to overhaul it completely.
Not many people did pvp, but it's not any better now. A load of people flocked towards it as it was changed and were very excited, but it seems the enthusiasm died out already long ago, so it was more of a "try the shiny new thing" than actual interest in the mode. And the battle pass thingy+garo of course also contributed hugely to the numbers, which would happened regardless of skill changes or not.

Anyway, I don't have much of an opinion on Feast vs CC, but I'm scared about RW changes.

On the healing topic, I can definitely see where you are coming from and I wont deny that healer players would definitely raise an eyebrow over how they heal / support in PvP - on the other hand the impact healers had in the outcome of a match was obnoxiously high, if not straight up fundamental. It was sadly a necessary change for a roleless queue to get around the issue of the matchmaker providing no healer vs healer matches.

This was sadly a point where you couldn't have everyone winning.

Regarding LB reliance, this is job dependent but definitely true. Certain jobs like Warrior or White Mage have too much of their power budget in the Limit Break whereas jobs like Monk and Ninja have some ridiculous swinging potential in their LB. All of this is ofc made worse from LB charging 95% based on time passed rather than performance based LB building like in other games (Overwatch for example). This creates the footsie battle at the start of the round where people just bide time for LBs to come up for the initial fight.

On the matter of players coming in - this is essentially knowledge coming from game development: A game can be as good as it wants, but if people aren't willingly joining to try it out, then you need to change the formula and incentivise with freshness.

This sounds shortsighted at first, but in order to improve upon a concept, you need data. By gaining a herde of players flocking to your product you can obtain a ton of data, of which written feedback is only a fraction of like 25-35% on average (estimation).

I liked Feast a lot, but we must not kid ourselves - compared to now, we were literally on life support through our own community. The fresh blood was needed.
