You were rewarded for dedicating, and before anyone riffs on ppl who used scripts to do it, know that these same people ran a risk of being exploited by retainers selling trash goods and ludicrous prices. Not really, please don't lump everyone into the same group. There are several players, including myself who prefers the lottery system to the placard clicking system, despite the lowered odds of obtaining a house.

And do you know why? It's because now we can actually play the game during our leisure hours which is already extremely limited as opposed to clicking the bloody placard for hours with no end in sight. I entered a lottery last round with over 200 bids and even though I lost, I still massively prefer the lottery because I'M NOT WASTING MY TIME NOT PLAYING THE ACTUAL GAME.

Really? Do you object to high-end raids, then? Because people with low-end machines, really bad ping times, or just plain clumsy fingers (e.g., arthritis) are essentially locked out of that content.

Fact is, differences in what people 'get for their subscription" are inevitable.
"How much" a person gets is highly correlated with

• their ability,
• the capability of their hardware and network connection,
• their level of interest in the various parts of the game, and
• the level of effort they put in.

Accordingly, some people will always get more, and some people will always get less.

It's true for many other kinds of subscriptions as well. Look at cable TV subscriptions, for example.

There's a difference between content people can't access due to their personal situations, and content people can't access because it's (badly) designed to be inaccessible to everyone, period, regardless of their personal situation.

I've been saying for ages that there should, at the very least, be zero game features locked behind housing other than housing itself if it's gonna stay limited like it is forever. And at this point I sincerely doubt SE is actually going to put in the resources to actually create a housing system that everyone can access. So at the very least cross breed gardening and workshops should not be exclusive to housing.

So yeah. Trying and failing to do a raid because you lack the skill, capability, or internet connection isn't the same as trying and failing to get a house because there aren't enough of them and rng said no.

For you, my enjoyment of something is not based on the fact others can or can't have it. A house can theoretically be a challenge too, but still be available to everyone through a variety of means- so not only would I say 'for you', but also I think this method (limited wards) is also still a poor implementation of personal achievement.

It's like thinking sRPGs don't exist, can't feel good about doing something because everyone can do it.... That logic just doesn't track unless you are really hung up on such a.... Selfish idea.

Wholly and completely disagree. I like having a house because I like having a house. I do not care about literally any of my neighbors, of which I can count on one hand the number of whom I have actually seen in the last three years, and I would not care if everyone and their mother had access to housing in this game.

I don't expect SE to overhaul the system. If they planned to they'd have done it ages ago instead of slapping a bunch of ugly paint and weird bandaids on it. But I'm very much not on board with the "keep it limited so it's ***special***" thing

We keep playing the lottery because we dont have a choice currently. I have no doubt somewhere in the future things will change again, but we are stuck with this for now. This system cant possibly last. The same players that made bots to click placards are the same players that will make LOTS of alts and extra accounts JUST to have extra bids. They didnt solve anything. They just traded in one flawed system for another tbh.

Neither system is the real flaw. They both work in their own ways.

The real flaw is in the limited supply that forces SE to resort to such systems in the first place.

Perhaps that's how the two of you feel because you both value prestige and exclusivity over being with people having fun.

Some of us value people having fun. I don't care if someone else has what I have. It would not matter to me if everyone else has a house. the flavor doesn't come from having something others can't get. The flavor comes from the content itself.

I want everyone else to be sharing in that enjoyment if it's content that interests them.
