well yeah but nothing happens in the endgame to be sad about.
The scions have chernobyl-disaster-proof plot armor and you kill a guy they needlessly brought back when he shouldve stayed dead in STORMBLOOD.
They coulda meant Hydaelyn but anyone with a brain shouldve known we were going into EW to kill Zodiark and Hydaelyn so thats not spoilery or unexpected.

I'm with you there. There are players though that think otherwise. The fake-death in UT brought some to tears, even people that knew it was fake because of the symbol of sacrifice or something. Zenos 2nd death and then the flower field for Meteion. I read people talking about that last one as "the scene everyone cried or something". I think i thought: "How cheesy" or something.
