I felt the Ascian storyline didn't gain momentum until ShB, so for it to be concluded within the next expansion felt extremely rushed. I'd only just gotten invested. Now it's done and I have as many or more questions than I did before EW despite the expansion supposedly having answered everything.

Not to mention that I hadn't been interested in anything story wise since 3.3 and I was completely enthralled with the Ancient history of the world. Now I definitely feel there is no story 'hook', especially as the "new adventure" seems to be everything returning to the status quo despite Yoshi-P in pre-EW interviews making it sound like the end of 6.0 was going to have us stranded and alone somewhere (to the point I recall he had to clarify that wasn't going to be the case).

This is also aside from the fact that after EW I have no confidence they can appropriately handle a "conflict of values" story arc, so it's beyond simply finding the current trajectory dull it's outright being concerned where it's headed in the future.
