I like how generally people who only play p2p games say "you gotta pay a sub but then you get everything with it". But you gotta pay box price, plus every single expansion costs as much, then there's the cash shop, microtransactions like name change, and all that on top of subscription. Hardly all included, nowadays.
And of course they also make a lot of money from physical merchandise, which they always advertise in live letters.
The difference being that when you buy an expansion you pay £30 or whatever it is. And you get a shed load of actual content and stuff with it..

As opposed to paying £30 and getting just a mount or some bs...

That's why noone cared about old school dlcs and microtransactions because you got a ton for your money. £20 got you 2 whole new stories in gta4 for example and all the associated stuff that came with..

£15 in the early assassins creed games got you entire extra chapters or a whole new story in some cases.. actual real content and good amounts of it..

Today. What does £20 get you on the mog station in terms of actual real content.or new gameplay.... a couple of emotes or a mount that should be included in the game anyway. Even if tied to achievement rewards or something. Give players something to do or work towards..especially when it's so common to hear players say there bored and there nothing to do because 99.999% of the games content is obsolete.
