    I think you misunderstood me. I don't advocate doing sightseeing tours in dungeons and I'm not against timers, on the contrary. I prefer a timed duty for the same reason as you do: leave the sightseeing for other activites (no, not even expert), don't dawdle.
    But timers can cause problems because everything that demands swift execution will favour comps that make it easier to achieve that and balance in dungeons is basically non-existent. I don't think not having a timer and increased difficulty is mutually exclusive; you can increase the difficulty without slapping a tight timer on it and tight timers have more potential to cause issues than other methods of increasing difficulty.

    People will clear this with every job just like they do every other piece of content. Balance will be looked at if any balance problems arise, like it is when it comes to pvp and raiding. So far there just hasn't been any reason to balance jobs for dungeons. Now there will be.

    I don't think not having a timer and increased difficulty is mutually exclusive;
    Other methods of increasing difficulty on their own are less effective than other methods of increasing difficulty combined with an enrage timer. That's why challenging pve content always has them.

    This will sound snarky, but I feel like you haven't met humanity in a while. Making a timer actually a factor most likely will in and of itself result in certain classes becoming either preferred or rejected. That has happened across the entire spectrum of games for years.

    I guess that would require you to engage in said content instead of making broad generalizations.

    Hell, even deep dungeons have timers. And those are actual timers that boot you out, rather than enrages. And this is just a soft enrage, not even an hard one.

    As for the "they'll take every job", I have a feeling that none of these people have ever tried to do 20+ keys as a feral druid. Hell, even 15s were a pain in the ass to get.

    Oh yeah, and in the case of PotD we're talking days of progress, not whatever minutes new dungeons will be. And yet for full group runs people never care about only going with the meta classes, only for solo and even then some people go with less efficient classes.

    Truly, people here are making a huge tragedy where there's absolutely no reason for it.

    Sorry, I have no clue what any of that is. But I've been playing this game long enough and for enough hours to know how this game works. And since what they're introducing is not any harder than anything we've had so far....you do 2+2.

    None of the high-end content gets harder the longer you take. P1S is faceroll simple whether you clear at 6:40 or 8:55. These dungeons are supposedly going to increase in difficulty, which directly incentivizes faster comps. For example sake, if bringing Warrior all but guarantees the healer can DPS spam while Dark Knight risks additional mobs spawning due to needing more healing, the former will be universally favored. It all depends on how they implement things but dungeon balance is a compete mess whereas in Savage raiding, it's a focal point of the design. So there's certainly reason enough to be concerned.

    I don’t think they have the engine to do anything remotely like M+ - I have a feeling we won’t see special mob casts that people have to kick or anything like random affixes.

    I think it will be just more mechanics on bosses, and harder hitting mobs.
