Sure, but I'd argue they would be a better mentor than some rat who no mit tanked their way through ARR content for 2 months begging for coms.

Still doesn't math right.
Being able to clear Ultimate is an entirely different skillset than being able to run casual dungeons. Same with Savages. Heck, Savage requires an entirely different mindset/skillset than extremes.
The problem isn't what mentors are able to clear, the problem is in what is the incentive for them to become a mentor - is it helping, or is it getting the mount, or both? Because if it's both, good. If it's just helping, good. If it's just getting the mount - regardless, they're not going to be a good mentor.
I'd argue that mentors shouldn't have a mount to get or a special roulette that gives you additional rewards. You only become a mentor to help others.Still doesn't math right.

I'd argue that being a tank shouldn't give you a special mount either, then. You only become a tank to complete your role in roulettes and instanced content, or play through the story.
I'd also argue that PvP shouldn't give any rewards either - you should only become a PvPer to enjoy ganking others to oblivion.
Obviously, these are nonsense assertions, same as yours. The mentor roulette is a piece of content same as any other content, and it's already thankless enough as is.
I don't think you realize how bad your suggestion is. As far as i'm concerned, the place i see the most "toxicity" is in Savage Raids. Not only that, you're just shifting from dungeons to savage, which in the end is the same exact concept.
The only way to make mentor "viable" in my opinion and not just a useless badge is to make a new area/zone where people that wants to mentor can go and chill and wait for new players to come in and ask for help on certain mechanics/rotations. The Mentor system itself should be removed completely, it serves literally no purpose beside inflating one's ego. If you really want to help new players, you shouldn't need a shiny badge to do so.
Put the badge on, you're yelled at for helping. Take the badge off and you're told you don't know what you're talking about. It really is thankless lol. The issue is that this community has somehow made giving feedback no matter how polite an infringement on a player's agency and harassment. Even more so, players just ignore feedback more often than not. And given there is no feedback game side about what a player is doing and the game being piss easy, new plays don't ever think to seek out additional resources unless its placed right in front of them.I don't think you realize how bad your suggestion is. Mhhh, why removing the mentor crown? The game will not become better or worse if SQEX removes the crown.
Cheers
