Ameliance quest

So apparently Mr.Happy posted a video on YouTube about how the puppet master job from FFXI could be implemented into FFXIV as a non limited job.

I watched the video all the way through and he mentioned in the Ameliance quest she said something about using aether to control mammets. I kinda skimmed through those quest and now wish I would of paid more attention. We know the devs love to give hints about possible new jobs into the quest somehow. So maybe we will see a job similar to puppet master or even puppet master itself?

What do you guys think? I for one would love it as I loved it in FFXI.

I would love to see Puppetmaster as a caster who uses dark magic in addition to their puppet as a full job, not a limited one.

when i played pup in ffxi it was a fun job have gotten all key attachments for each job so they each work at their best hope their verison of this job in ffxiv carries on in the same fashion as ffxi.

I’m with you. I also played puppet master in FFXI. It’s my favorite job. I hope it’s coming. Mammets? Come on. That can’t be a bigger clue. I mean they also did the same with geomancer but quickly said it was the same as Astro so they kinda got us excited then buried it soon after lol. Truly hope a puppet master of puppet master inspired new job is coming.

FHappy can say whatever he wants, but we all know SE has no idea how to implement a pet class in a game like XIV.

And I really think it comes down to Yoshida's lack of knowledge on how pet classes work. I mean, he doesn't like playing healer and look at that tragedy of class design. Then take a look at SMN, in all its incarnations within this game. It's really just a situation where someone in charge at top needs to have their hands in everything even when their knowledge about that subject does not meet the required base knowledge to even make those kinds of decisions, and those are the kinds of situations that always fail. You can actually go down the line of Yoshida's most and least favorite jobs and see how they are or get messed up. Just look at blm vs any other job in the game. The dude needs to let ppl with knowledge in certain areas take the lead in those areas.

Why? He's been asked for years what job he'd like to see added to the game and Puppet Master has always been his answer.

He's also said on many occasions he doesn't expect it to actually happen. The Ameliance quest was just an excuse to create a video about why he wants it so much.

I've never seen a pet class done well in a MMO. Pet pathing AI always ends up a problem and usually the pet itself ends up little more than white damage after a few rounds of "fixes".

I'm also confused why you put a thread that's really a job discussion in the Quest subforum.
