FF14 community I need your help and wisdom against toxic people on the forum

Anyway so many people lose their accounts by clicking a link thinking they will win, and that's not a good thing

You're making a good point here.
I know how to check links before clicking on them but not everyone does and yes we should protect those people

It could be that my thread looks like a phishing scam because it contains a link, but all can see the link to YouTube and a moderator could test that for before deleting it and in my case it will always be 100% legit.

No good moderator/dev/admin will blindly follow a link (even for testing) as it could post a security risk to their own account. Most IT professionals would test links in a sandbox environment with a dummy account, but that will be too much hassle/time-consuming for the mods so they will just remove the post.

I think bottom line is your post had all the appearance of RMT/Phishing and it got shut down as a result (thought he forum rules do mention that advertising is prohibited, I think this is dealt with at mod discretion as they haven't removed your other posts). As others have noted, the forums are not the best place to reach out to the community in this way - if you want to run a giveaway, do it on a live Twitch stream - any other method is going to seem suspicious to most players. (Though doing a gil giveaway just to get more followers/likes is not a great way to do things anyway - you get followers/subscribers by creating useful and engaging content - look at the biggest FFXIV content creators out there, they didn't get where they are by trading gil for some likes/comments/follows).

I'd be surprised if they restored your post and to be honest, if you start creating similar ones they may even suspend your account (fair warning).

You don't want to help people though, you just want to get views and recognition, and I'm not trying to scold you or anything because it's okay, but I'd be more willing to check you out if you were honest with your intentions from the start.

Thank you for your feedback Theox, I think we have a communication issue here that we hopefully can resolve.

Let's start with my YouTube channel.
I have some crap video's I've made for fun because I like the editing and sometimes the joke in my mind is much funnier then the video result I've made (I am not an artist at all so I can't express the humor in a way I would like)
Most of my video's are about helping others, things I wished to know sooner when I started playing this game
The channel doesn't make profit and my intention is that it will never does

I think the only way for me to make a living of FF14 (not the case atm) is from donations or patreon ...or streaming on Twitch.
(I have a patreon site but I don't want people to subscribe...I am so far away from doing this like for real but I need to learn how all of this works)

I don't care for the recognition though, it's so much nicer if you can do your thing and noone is there to bother you, but it's also a way not to devellop yourself as a person.

Making YouTube videos still feels strange to me, I am a person that feels great around people irl instead of posting video's or threads that people can interpreted in another way then intended
My plan to stream live on Twitch scares the hell out of me, put me in front of a thousand people and I feel confortable talking (happend a few times in my life)..but streaming is scary for me
So I've combined my idea of helping people with my personal self devellopment, getting myself over the fear of streaming.

So my intention is still to help people and from the feedback that I got it seems to work..eventhough it's just a few people...but in my opinion everyone counts.
All the people that react to my video's or post are helping me devellop aswell so it's a win-win for me.

Yes a few people brought up the post could look like phishing and that is a good point you all are making (beeing to enthousiastic for the contest idea, i don't think of something so obvious)

You are right about creating usefull and engaging content will bring in more followers.
How will these people find me though?
I don't poses the tool to reach out to a bigger audience.
It's not the recognition I seek but helping / entertaining more people then I do now, it's like teaching (irl). I could help a person devellop her/his skills, but if I create an enviroment full of students that work together we can help each other more then only 1 person can....in that case my role changes towards guiding people and providing a safe enviroment.

That is what I like to accomplish


Giving away gil was a spontanious idea, In my mind there are 3 things that I combined :
1 giving away gil to someone I don't know is stupid
2 the wonderfull people giving me feedback is great and I want to do something back
3 If I want to create the enviroment I've just typed above I need to stream to be able to acchief that goal. The more people involved the better people can be helped and we all grow as a person and group

I doubt they were angry. The forums are just full of weary, worn-out veterans. Years of playing and grinding have taken their toll and they take it out on the forums. Most of the audience here probably knows how to make gil already and your target audience (new players) probably don't visit these forums.

New players just play the game. You might find some of them in the thousands of FF14 discord servers, but most of them are found where you would expect, playing the game.

Within an hour or so my post got deleted.

I can't find the post you described, so maybe it was deleted, but moderation is not common on these forums so usually the post just got lost among the others.

I never said I was there to help the community, I'm just a gamer and I give my opinion on the game, to say that I'm toxic because I give my opinion and you don't like what I say is ridiculous.

I also don't like liars who take people for fools to say they want to help the community when they only think about their own profit

I have a youtube channel too and you'll never see me advertising and if I ever do I'll be honest I have a deep respect for the rules unlike you that I know of that none of my topics have been deleted

Me neither and I have the option to see all the post that I've started when I check my profile...I think it's deleted like people said because It could have looked like phising (combination with win + click here)

I'm here to give my opinion, to also ask for help sometimes as someone has already said the majority of people on this forum are veterans it's always interesting to read their messages or participate in their discussions.

As a youtuber you should know that we don't buy our viewers, I don't have a lot of views in my videos but I'm not going to try to do any shenanigans to gain subscribers how can you act this way?
I would be really happy if you no longer respond to my posts because I have more to tell you now it's up to you to decide whether you continue on your way and you will end up with a suspended account or whether you calm down for a good once and for all
